Sad situation, it's a shame he couldn't get the help he needed. If I recall correctly his family was resistant to getting him help. Prayers to all involved.

Because the kid totally could control being a diagnosed schizophrenic. People who are diagnosed schizophrenic often need case managers to help them make sure they take their meds and attend therapy. Even at that, they still have episodes. And often need a wide range of support to be able to function.

It is possible to have sympathy for all involved.

I'm hearing this might be associated. 18 year old with obvious homicidal trauma near white rock lake.

You think?
Why would you think you even needed to point out the obscenely obvious?
For crying out loud.

I blame the machete. They are too easy to get.

What's even scarier... There are a lot more people out there just as crazy. Put a gun in there hands and eventually they explode. Sad

Really, I bet you're the life of the party. This sucks for all involved. The family of the victim as well as the person with the extreme mental health problems.

I understand this is SEC-related and we never shy away from talking about the misdeeds of ex-SEC athletes, but it always feels tawdry posting horrible stuff like this on SEC-R.

I hear plenty of ex-NFL concussion issues.

Yet the psycho killer deserves the same empathy, according to belle and others.

IMO he does. I've dealt with a parent who had mental illness and it ain't pretty. you can lead a horse to water but yea can't make it drink. Unmedicated people are as much if not more a danger to themselves than anyone else.

When he is mentally ill, you're damn right he does. This isn't some roid rage incident nor is it some thug that has never had to face consequences in his life, this is someone who has legit mental problems and there is precious little help for these people in this country.
