Thanks so much everyone. Chemo went well today. I had no problems or reactions. Everyone was so nice and made me feel at ease. I know it is the first day but so far I feel great. I had to get an OnPro injector for bone marrow production. They placed it on my stomach. Medicine has definitely came a long way. It injects automatically at 27 hours after chemo for 30 or 45 minutes, cant remember. Anyway, like I said earlier, I have so many emotions going on right now. Being in my 30s and having had a total abdominal hysterectomy and finding out I have cancer, another surgery to remove my other ovary and enlarged lymph nodes, and then another surgery for port placement has been rough. I can't take hormones but so far I haven't had many menopause symptoms. It just sucks but it could be worse. I will lose my hair with the chemo and that has me sad. I don't mean to be that way but I worry about my appearance. I know I sound shallow but it is just the way am. Thanks for listening.

This is not shallow at all, don't think that way. Appearance is very important to women. Find you a nice wig to wear if you are comfortable with that, or the scarves I see some women wear on their heads. My thoughts when I see that are how brave they are.
You are being prayed for, for a full recovery from this. Keep us posted.

A woman in our church went through chemo and lost all her hair. When she licked cancer, it all grew back. Weird thing is, she says her hair is different now. Says her hair was kind of frizzy and curly before chemo. Says she always wanted straight hair.
After her cancer went into remission, her hair has grown back straight!

A friend of mine had chemo and radiation for pancreatic cancer. He didn't lose his hair, and he has been cancer free for 8 years. He did try to stay very physically active during treatment which I think may have helped
Also have you considered getting a second opinion on treatment from a comprehensive cancer center such as the ones at UAB, Emory, or Vanderbilt

I'll tell you a story.
My cousin is Leslie Mouton, who is an anchorwoman at KSAT TV in San Antonio. A few years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She had to go through the full monty including surgery, chemo, hair loss, etc. She decided to make a news story out of the whole process because its a prominent womens issue. She even was so brave as to do the news bald. And she is beautiful, hair or no.
At that time, this was totally unheard of. She wound up on Oprah, the Today Show and other national shows. She later had a radical mastectomy that removed both breasts along with a cosmetic rebuild. She is fine today but is a major champion of womens health issues. Especially cancer.
My message is that there is hope. Be strong. Rely on your loved ones when you cant be strong. You will get through this. I admire your courage.
Roll Tide. And War Damn Eagle.

Prayers sent to you Crimson. I lost my dad just over a month ago from small cell lung cancer just 3 months after being diagnosed. I researched your cancer and the survival rate and the outlook is much, much better than what my pops went through, although I can’t fathom the thought of having cancer of any kind, especially at your age.
Also, don’t worry about the hair loss. My immediate family and myself bought so many hats and beanies for my dad that it damn near turned into a comedy show. He had so many different things to wear that were bought and/or made by relatives that made him happy and made us laugh. Nobody cares what you look like when struggling with cancer.

I dont often agree with Tide fans, but this is spot on for me too.
Get tough, real tough ! Beat that stuff ! ( Chant it, its an old Missouri high school cheer. Yeah we know, we're not really southern, but our hearts are in the right place.)

Hey guys! Its CC98. I couldn't remember my password so I just signed up under another name a while back. I am doing perfect and feel amazing. Been cancer free for over 2 years. Just had a CT scan in December and everything was clear. Thanks for bumping this thread. I should have updated before now.
