Looking for a new internet provider. I have Dish network for my TV's and thinking about trying their internet service.
Anyone have this service and how do you like it.

Let me know how it works out.

I'm looking for a new provider as well.

ETA - You should request to have this moved to the correct board.

Satellite internet should only be used as a last resort.

Verizion MiFi and similar devices are definitely better than satellite internet.

The problem is the upload speed, which may not seem like a big deal but yes, it is.

Agreed ... but upload can be fast on 4G.

We've got Verizon Internet at the other house, wireless basically, same as our phones, and we love it compared to this house and the land line.

We also cut-out wi-fi service at all the restaurants because they all register 4G and we were tired of fighting the security battles with the leeches sitting outside.

If your location has good coverage, 3G minimum but preferably 4G ... I'd go with that over Dish's Internet service.

But, to answer the OP's question we tried Dish Internet for a year and, while it was better than what we had at the remote location, we dumped it recently and went with Verizon and it is much better.

We've got a friend who uses Hughes' Net and he said it's gotten a lot better - like 2mg downloads and .800 upload speeds - but still, that ancient in the overall scheme of things.

Take your phone, smart phone rather, and do a speed test from your home and you may be shocked at your download and upload speeds.

I tried to get it once and the sales rep for dish told me that. It would be like very fast dial up or mediocre DSL at best.

My neighbor has it and it's not fast enough to watch YouTube videos. He hates it.
