I can't recall that much about the site, but I just have a general recollection of it being crap.
They were the site that held up a young Chiefs fan as an example of blackface racism for wearing garb to a game.
I rarely have sympathy for journos facing the real world. Even less so here.

They were cool like 12 years ago. But this is, I believe, the second time this has happened to them. No one really cares.

Deadspin was funny back before they took themselves seriously. Drew Magary decided to insert politics into absolutely everything sometime in the last 12 years.
The "Why Your Team Sucks" NFL preview used to be good for a few laughs.
I remember them calling the Seahawks "the Dirty Birds, but for Caucasians."

ETA: Nevermind, I found it and, while I'm not a Dead Spin fan, (first time I've ever read an article off their site is now), you gotta admit that the author makes a decent point.

Mulkey and Reese both kinda poured gas on the fire before, during and afterwards in the eyes of most casual observers.
And ... Flau'jai flopped.

As someone pointed out on the thread about this on MSB, Carron J. Phillips, the Deadspin writer who wrote the article on the Chiefs kid also recently wrote an article about Kim Mulkey’s response to the LSU-South Carolina fight. That counts for me. Link to article is below:
