Bout to start - I, Ripper by Stephen Hunter.
I, Ripper is a vivid reimagining of Jack’s personal story entwined with that of an Irish journalist who covered the case, knew the principals, charted the investigation, and at last, stymied, went off in a bold new direction. These two men stalk each other through a city twisted in fear of the madman’s blade, a cat-and-mouse game that brings to life the sounds and smells of the fleshpot tenderloin of Whitechapel and all the lurid acts that fueled the Ripper headlines.

Reclaiming History by the late Vincent Bugliosi. It's a 1,400 page refutation of every conspiracy theory concerning the JFK assassination.
In the first 100 pages alone, you'll be convinced that LHO acted alone in murdering President Kennedy. But the entire book is a great read, highly recommended for anyone with any interest in the assassination.

The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. It's the first book in his new series which is currently planned to be ten books, The Stormlight Archive.
How is it? I've heard nothing but good things but I'm too lazy to start a series that long

Just started yesterday, but I'm already hooked. Sanderson is wonderful.
Only two books are out so far, so if you get started now, it won't seem so daunting.

Trying to motivate myself to read Patrick Rothfuss' The Wise Man's Fear
First book was great but having trouble starting it.

All of Mark Tufo's zombie books are great. I love the humor he mixes in with his stories.

It's good, it's a bit longer than The Name of the Wind and it drags a bit towards the middle, but the ending is great and there's a big twist.
I'm looking forward to the third one if he'd ever finish it.

That is most certainly NOT my type of genre but a friend gave me the 2 books a few years ago as a Christmas gift. I was kinda bummed since I knew I'd never open them but I started the first on a whim and flew through both within a few weeks. Honestly I can't hardly tell you much of anaything that happens since I lost interest so quick with that fat frick not putting ou the last one yet, but I do remember I was just as entrenched in the 2nd as I was the 1st. Just keep going!

I love his books. I can think of only 1 or 2 that I didn't care for much. If you like Hunter you may want to take a look at some of the John Corey novels by Nelson DeMille.

WoT series is solid, like others have said it starts to drag, but once Sanderson starts up (finished the series for Jordan) it's refreshingly fast paced again. The first two Stormlight Archives books by Sanderson were some of my favorite I have ever read, definitely would recommend.
As for what I am reading, I am chugging through Dust of Dreams (9th book of the 10 Malazan book of the Fallen series) and still loving the series. I take breaks in between the books (1-2 quicker, less dense reads typically) and it has taken me about 8 months to get to this point.

It does indeed, but definitely worth it.
You can bide your time waiting for the next book by finding this at the library: LINK. Rothfuss has a story in there called "The Lightning Tree" about Bast from the Kingkiller books. Also a few other really good stories in there from excellent authors like Gaiman and Lynch.

This Book is great, start as soon as you can. There is an audio book for Long Drives. I listened first read through and read second read through to pick up things you miss in audio/distractions

Good shite. I've read through both Way of Kings and the sequel Words of Radiance twice.
Highly recommend the series to anyone that likes the fantasy genre. The size of the books can be intimidating but they are broken up into 4 acts with interlude chapters inbetween. Plus the books aren't as dense as something like Game of Thrones or Wheel of Time.
I'm currently on Crown of Swords which is book 7 in the Wheel of Time series. I finally took the plunge to start reading because I Sanderson wrote the last three books and I wanted to prevent myself from going through Way of Kings and Words of Radiance a third time before Oathbringer (book 3) has a release date scheduled

Stormlight Archive is amazing but you could start with the Mistborn series to see if you like Sanderson's writing. The original series is only 3 books and they are much shorter than the Stormlight books.

Waiting for Norm Macdonalds Memoir to come out. Anybody got any other great celebrity autobiography suggestions?

I just read Dark Matter by Blake Crouch - sci-fi stuff. Not a bad beach book - a fast read. I also read City of Ember with my son.
