Funny. Everything you post about anything comes off as a whiny bitch.

If true, not in character for RT at all. Dude is pretty damn mild mannered. Can't remember him ever talking shite at A&M and he was a part of some heated games.

Wow! You just can't root for a guy like this even if you are an Aggie.

I have to admit that you are correct.

The guy was awesome when he was our backup QB and active WR. (His talent was too good for the bench; he spent his first few years CATCHING passes for us. And he was GOOD.) He was tough. He was a winner. He was a team player.

His senior year, our starting quarterback, he laid down for the draft. Protected his pretty (and future rich) arse to our expense.

Aggies normally don't divulge this shite to outsiders, but I'm drinking tonight and the OP's tale really chaps my arse (for awakening my memories).

I'm pretty sure that Coach Mike Sherman had a crush on him and advised him to candy arse.

What in the blazes are you talking about? That didn't happen. At all.

2011 was on Sherman and his squandering halftime leads with shitty coaching in the 2nd half. Not Tannehill laying down. Him being drafted wasn't even a sure thing. Give me a break.

You saw what you saw. I saw what I saw. I'm not going to waste the morning digging up video, but he slid, fell, sauntered out of bounds, and tanked at way too many crucial moments that year.

Sherman had him all but separated from the rest of the team. Treated him like royalty. Practically had people wiping his arse. Really messed with his head Sherman did.

It's true that his draft status was uncertain, but I'm of the notion that Sherman was telling him, "You, son, are going to be an NFL quarterback" the entire while. Not that there's anything wrong with this. It's the extent to which Sherman went about treating him like he was already a $100 Million Dollar Baby. This by the time of the Arkansas game.

I don't care about tannehill one way or another, but boy was I wrong about my prediction he and the Dolphins were going to have a breakout year.

umm it was really clear that Sherman went entirely back on his heels and played conservative in the second half of those games. i went to 2 games that year and i saw Tanny bust it in the 2nd half.

you really think Sherman was so protective of Ryan that he was willing to cost himself a job and 5 wins in 2011?

You concocted a fantasy in your head.

Pure fantasy.

You're talking about the guy who tossed what should have been the game winning touchdown against t.u. after yet another Sherman choke job and was going hard down the stretch to win a meaningless bowl game against Northwestern.

You're spouting utter crap not rooted in reality. Did Tannehill underperform his senior year? Yeah, but so did the whole team tbh.

This "Sherman coddled Ryan and Ryan tanked" narrative you've concocted out of thin air is straight bullshite

He had a fairly disappointing senior year and I think he buckles under pressure (did then and does now from what I've seen) but yeah, I don't question he gave everything he had. I've never heard the "Sherman coddled him" thing before either and with how our fan base tore apart the 11 team for how they performed and microanalyzed everything, I feel like we would have if there was a shred of truth

OK, Fine. I hope you guys are all right (and that I am wrong). But don't be too shocked if one of these nights I've nothing better to do than to produce a montage of video evidence.

Not that I'm doing so now. I am not. As I've said I rather hope that I'm deluded about the everything. But IF, one of these inter-season nights, I happen to find myself with nothing to do (which is very highly unlikely) then I might just find, copy, sample, and produce a body of evidence to show you all that I saw more than y'all saw all along.

Until then I'm more than happy to accept that I'm an imbecile.

I don't really believe it's true, but I really wish it was

Tannehill is a nice dude, met him once. He needs a little bit more of cocky douche aspect to him, the type that makes you hate him, but also the type that most clutch QBs have. Tannehill is extremely talented, but he lacks a clutch factor. I don't know if 2011 just did a number of his confidence, but he's only had 8 4th quarter comebacks and 5 game winning drives in his NFL career. Half of these were in 2013. I don't know what it is but when he plays I just don't see him having "it", as subjective as that may be.

This all is coming from a lifelong Fins fan, btw

Was a student at TAMU the same time as him--met him a couple of times because my little brother was a walk on. Extremely chill dude--I agree that he could use a little more cockiness. I liken the best NFL QB's to some of the best USAF fighter pilots. Almost to a man, all said pilots I interacted with were cocky/douchy as hell, but that's kind of the attitude you need to have in both professions.

Hope the new interim 'Phins HC Dan Campbell (another Aggie btw) can get 'em all turned around.

I come from a family of pilots so I know exactly what you mean. I trust alcoholic assholes (to a point) to fly my plane much more than straight edge characters.

I'm the only male in my immediate family that's not both a marine and a pilot. I'm the pussy that went to Wall Street.
