We have a fundamental problem. Since I equate homosexual intolerance with intolerance for interracial marriage or racial intolerance, your post is like asking me to tolerate segregation or something of that nature. I don't and I can't. Call me intolerant or hypocritical. Thats quite alright.

A person has to draw a line somewhere. Fights like this are bound to happen. Many Christians feel compelled by their God to fight the perpetuation and acceptance of homosexuality as morally benign. They feel that people should tolerate that view. Others feel that that this is equatable to being asked to tolerate discrimination because of skin color. It is what it is, but as I said, like it or not the writing's on the wall. One of these sides will be viewed right alongside racial and gender prejudice as the trends which are firmly set in motion bear themselves out over time.

You came into this thread with guns a blazing, praising the death of ignorant christians. Please point me to any established religion that accepts the homosexual lifestyle. Or any civilization in recorded history that accepted homosexual marriage.

Not accepting homosexuality does not equate to hating an individual.

Seeing Michael Sam kiss his boyfriend was the picture America needed, whether they were comfortable or not, to actually move forward to the actual acceptance of gays.

It won't ever be accepted. Tolerated is the word you're looking for.

My emotional attachment to the issue is what I see as an effort to infringe upon a homosexuals right to marriage as well as large swaths of hatred and discrimination. I know it rustles African American jimmies, but its hard to believe how many African Americans I've met that cannot seem to empathize with this plight....due to their own prejudice. They seem to be offended and feel that this somehow equates blackness with homosexuality which is ridiculous.

Are you equating the plight of homosexuals with the plight of blacks in American History? Because that is absurd. Asking the black community to accept homosexuality because gays are facing some discrimination is absurd. Btw, gays are discriminated in China far more than they are in the USA, and China's population is an overwhelming Atheist majority.

I agree. Let the gays kiss if they want. I don't care what gutter rats Richie Incognito bangs and I don't care what dainty cock gobblers Michael Sam bangs.

I wonder what it must be like to live with such an outlook on the world?

Even most christians acknowledge it isnt a choice to be gay, they just play the "its a choice to act on it" card.

I am an Evangelical Christian and I dont care what two adults do in their bedroom (even if I don't agree with it).

But the media just shoves it on America and puts gay people on a pedestal. I think that is one of the reasons there is back lash.

"The existence of homosexuality in China has been well documented since ancient times. According to one study, homosexuality in China was regarded as a normal facet of life in China, prior to the Western impact of 1840 onwards."

"According to a study by the Pew Research Center of Global Religious Landscape as of 2010, 21.9% of the population in China are folk religionists, 18.2% are Buddhist, 5.1% are Christians, 1.8% are Muslims, 0.8% are of other religions, while unaffiliated constitutes 52.2% of the population."

Overwhelmingly atheist? I don't think so.

Religion in China (2010 survey)[18][note 1]

Chinese ancestral worship[note 2] (56.2%)
Chinese folk religions / Taoism[note 3] (12.9%)
exclusively Taoism[note 4] (0.8%)
Buddhism (excluding "triple refuge")[note 5][note 6] (12.5%)
"triple refuge" Buddhism[note 7] (1.3%)
Christianity[note 8] (2.4%)
Islam[note 9] (1.7%)
Non religious/Other (12.6%)

And this was what I was referring to earlier: You can't make anyone tolerate anyone else. People have the right to discriminate. The only thing this does is make people who support gays, continue to support gays.

Alternatively, it turns others off to the idea because they have to hear them bleating about how badly they have it.

Talk about ignorant.

Christianity is one of the most accepting religions in the world. Individuals may give us a bad name but my God commands me to love everyone, regardless. If you're a Christian and condemning someone for being gay or black or whatever, you're judging and you shouldn't do that. So don't paint us all as judgmental.

I don't see anyone going nuts over Islam which is waaaaay anti homosexuality. Why? Because uh oh: now we have two PC topics you can't condemn, Islam and homosexuality. So misdirect toward Christianity.

When San Fran gays vandalized churches in their city not one of them vandalized mosques even though they were very outspoken against gay marriage. Chicken shits.

You don't hear about Islam because it isn't in most peoples faces and mostly has affects overseas. The whole idea that Muslims are somehow "protected" is a bullshite right winger fantasy. Fundamentalist Muslims are just as retarded as fundy Christians.....
