I'm an hour away in the Joplin area. Going to Springfield in about an hour or two. Was at the Springfield Cardinals game Thurs.

Most definitely would go that far. There's a reason why the Springfield area is one of the fastest growing places in Missouri.

We have the most gorgeous Missouri landscape, beautiful rivers, lakes, and a comfortable standard of living that attracts people from the coasts who sold their homes, made a mint, and would like a great place to retire.

The Springfield/Branson area is without a doubt Missouri's paradise.

- One of the largest homes in the country is being built here
- Missouri's best resort (Big Cedar Lodge) is located here
- Springfield has a lot of old money
- Table Rock Lake is most certainly Missouri's most scenic and exclusive lake
- People who love all thing outdoors - Springfield/Branson is Missouri's outdoor Mecca.
- Cardinals minor league team - Springfield Cardinals
- Three Words - John Q. Hammons

No, St. Louis isn't jealous because Springfield/Branson is their playground. They come here to get away from there.

Almost the same distance as Nashville.... think I'll just go to the real thing.

Driving past Branson is always good for a few laughs though, billboards are hilarious in those parts.

I remember a hotel we stayed at gave coupons for free admission to some strip joint right next door and there was midget wrestling right across the street. Good times.

I knew there was a reason I moved from there.

I do miss going to Lamberts Cafe though. All the fried okra and green beans I could eat!

I lived on Ingram Mill for one year.

"Eh. Springfield. It's not so bad."

They should make a license plate for Missouri that says that.

Hell, you could probably win a statewide contest with that one. "Eh. Missouri. It's not so bad." If "Oklahoma is OK" can work, that can.

frick, at least the Missouri one would be accurate.
