How So? If KB could hit an open receiver we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Next season will all come down to how good Robinson is.

Only 2 positions on defense will have to be replaced. Elliott and Oliver/Perkins, so if Robinson is decent Mizzou should be a solid 6-8 again.

I don't think MIZ can afford to fire him...not with declining attendance (not just Mizzou, but more importantly the trend nationally), TONS of uncertainty around pay to play, etc. He does just enough to keep his job, but not enough for Sterk to pay the $2.5M buyout and then go pay who knows what for possibly the same result (or worse).

Or Bazelak.

Elliott could also come back for his SR year

With how Elliott has played I don’t believe he will be back

Odom isn’t even beating good teams. As someone else said yesterday, the only good win he’s had in 3.5 years is the Florida game last year.

Good teams don’t lose often. That’s why they are good.

I don’t think you’d find anyone to argue that Odom has been wildly successful through 3.5 years, but he HAS improved his win total every year (in danger of not doing that this year) and it WAS a bad situation that he stepped into.

The argument really isn’t what he has done, but what will he do? And conversely, what would someone else (that we could realistically hire) do?

Our second best win in our last 19 wins is an 8-6 Memphis.

You really like using cliches a lot, don’t you? I’m not expecting him to beat a plethora of ranked teams every year. But I also expected more than one good win in 3.5 years.

Improving the win total isn’t saying much when he set the bar very, very low. The mess he inherited was 4 years ago. How long are you going to keep riding that excuse?

3.5 years in, I think we already know what his ceiling is. And losing to tomato cans from the Mountain West or Conference USA every year is the floor. I don’t know what X coach can or can’t do, but at this point I’m ready to find out. It’s fine and dandy if you’re content with 7-5 every year with nothing but empty wins. But don’t expect everyone else to accept the same mediocrity you do.

And look at all the horrible losses. And games he blew like South Carolina and Kentucky last year. The only team with a winning record he’s beaten this year is SEMO. Woof.

Lol, it’s not a cliche. That’s the thing. If they were “good” they wouldn’t be losing much.

What excuse? I said he inherited a bad situation. He did. I said he’s improved the win total every year. He has. You can spin this if you like but they are objective facts. I already said nobody would argue he’s done anymore than a decent job (and an argument can be made for not even that) AS OF NOW.

we already know his ceiling

fricking hell man. No, no you don’t. How often does this need to be proven? YOU DONT KNOW. You couldn’t possibly. You have an opinion. Nothing more

accept the mediocrity

This is where these conversations always become so worthless. It’s like you have absolutely zero grasp of our history. None. Mediocrity? LOL. What program do you follow exactly? That’s what we do, and no amount of “demanding better” will make one bit of frickall. Don’t show up for games, don’t donate any money, demand better...That’s just not how this works.

It’s cool. You want him fired. It’s not an unreasonable stance at all, especially being angry right after a bad loss. It just makes a hell of a lot more sense to base all of this in just a touch of reality

Your arguments are ridiculous.

To the point of idiocy

Last Saturday had nothing to do with anything but the previous 6 days of preparation and a no-show by the offensive line.

Who said any different? You don’t lose to a team like Vanderbilt without a piss poor effort by everybody with a headset and uniform

He said a lot more than this: "I take the blame. As a leader on the team I apologize for not getting everyone to have that right mindset. ... The coaches are preaching it. ... It's our job as players and leaders to to make sure it shows up."

Wow. I thought for sure the coaches were preaching how easy this game would be all week and no effort would be required to win the game. Hell, I’m surprised they even showed up to practice considering how “lazy” they are.

This is all very shocking

that you don't get results by going 'jeez guys get your head in the game'?
That is very shocking.
Perhaps they chould try leading by example and busting arse, and busting the players asses.
If it's not too much trouble.

Thanks for the hot take JQ. The quality of your posts just keeps gettin better

Maybe you should figure out a way to get your incredible insight to the coaches???

I bet they never thought of that! All they’ve got to do is yell on the sidelines a bit more! Maybe break out the cattle prod?

BO is the 13th highest paid coach in the SEC. so his results have been better than what he’s paid.

He does however have a really good incentive structure that could pay him in the top half of the SEC, if he would stop with the Vandy and Wyoming type losses.
