Mizzou sure can suck the wind of its own sails, huh.

On Coach.

Should he stay, or should he go?

If stay, what gives you confidence he can improve on his deficiencies?

If go, what gives you confidence we can do any better?

I'd be interesting to see what Sterk could do in a head football coaching search.

I find myself constantly thinking how shitty it must be to be you.

Do you have anything constructive to add? Come on, think for once before typing. It’s never too late to do better.

Well, he hired Cuonzo. Maybe we’d get better. Maybe we’d get worse.

You basically have to weigh what’s more likely. Hiring a better coach or BO improving. If you think he can’t improve then maybe it’s worth the gamble of rolling the dice

Right...

So I’m guessing that again you have nothing productive to add to any conversation? Does that not get a little tiresome? You can’t conjure up one coherent thought?

He just got extended. What is his buy out? Firing a coach is expensive. Then there's down years while the new coach gets established.

I doubt it's even being considered right now. We would have to lose out for him to be on the hot seat.

Best to settle in and enjoy 150 yards in penalties per game

Didn't even Devine do stuff like this? Win against good teams and lose to bad teams in the same season.

Maybe this is lot of Mizzou

It’s most certainly just Mizzou, but I do believe there are coaches who could do better. Ones that could do worse too

Bo is so inconsistent it's ridiculous. He is no longer a rookie coach so it's inexcusable. Another thing that is inexcusable is his teams have no discipline, and directly is contributed to him. Penalties mean nothing to him, as he pretty much stated to the sideline reporter a couple weeks ago. At this point in time, I'm cool with going either way, keep him or look elsewhere. We know the ceiling with him now, and I think we could do better with the right hire if this keeps up, which it probably will.

Barry is too good to fire.
And not good enough to take us anywhere special.

We will be mediocre until he leaves.

I especially liked Elliott's two off-side penalties at the end donating a first down to Vandy. And he was directly over Vandy's center (the ball!!!) Does he have a vision prob? WTH Elliott???????!!!!!!??????!!!!!

I think Barry has reached his high and it's time to hire Josh Heupel.

And after? I mean we’ve been mediocre for 60 years now. We were mediocre before Odom and likely will be afterwards

Who cares about after?
This is now.
We are what we are. Some of that is a program issue. Some of it is a Barry issue.

I would be very surprised if Barry reaches what Pinkel accomplished. And I’m not talking about number of games won. I’m talking about actually winning anything. He can’t even win bowl games.

What good teams is Barry beating?

He's beating up on non-P5's and schools at historical lows like Tennessee and Arkansas, splitting (or worse) against Kentucky, SC and Vandy, and coming up short against Florida and Georgia. (Yeah, I know he's 2-1 against Flordia and hung 100 on them).

For Mizzou to be anything more than 3rd in the East they have to sweep Arky, Tenn, Vandy, SC and Kentucky and split with Florida and Georgia. The yearly leg-shitting against Kentucky, SC and Vandy is what's really undermining BO.

That said, he should stay. I like much of what he's done in correcting some of Pinkel's initial missteps when joining the SEC. He's using the Pinkel team building approach (coaching up 3*) but has yet to get to the Pinkel success level - and it's due to games like yesterday.

Let's call it what it is. Barry is lazy. He took the week off for Vandy and so his team did too. It was just Vandy and they needed a break after all. Coaching is hard. He likes to take the month off before the bowl game vacation also. Teaching kids to play clean takes work. I have not seen any improvement in this in four years, and given that a person's work ethic is set by Barry's age I don't expect to see any improvement. Now that he has too he is going to go 3-2 or even 4-1 (the east really is shite) to finish the season which will be more than enough to secure another year of this shite. Recruiting will slowly fall off and eventually he will get canned but we are in for 2-3 more years of exactly this before we can start another rebuilding process so we can just bide our time rereading the hundreds of Jesus/lefty's posts about how awesome he gonna be.

It's too bad, there are a lot of things he does well.

Florida last year.
A team that finished 5-3 in the SEC.
Period.
End of sentence.
Four years in and that’s his one good win.
