Some players talk trash when they are losing

Opponent tells them scoreboard

Life moves on. If you watch NFL films you will see this type of stuff. I remember an Alabama quarterback pointing at the scoreboard (like 10 years ago) when the Hogs were getting blown out. It happens. Nothing to get in a fit about. I doubt either fanbase even remembers. I'm more embarrassed by losing and poor coaching than the trash talking.

No. Lock has "moxie." We've been over this.

Lol. Okay. I’m 28. Hardly some cranky old codger.

But when you bark when you’ve got terrible hands, get manhandled by DBs, and try to get into fights, I’m going to point out how hilariously miserable your onfield attitude is.

I like TD celebrations and the like but Moore always struck me as a tool that’s too full of himself given all the killer mistakes he’s made at critical moments in his career here.

As for Lock. His celebration thing is just weird. Little kid weird but hardly annoys me. He doesn’t talk shite from what I’ve seen, nor does he mock opposing players and try to start fights.

What Ive generally liked about Witter during his play here is his business like approach until he scores.

As for the Daniel years... those were talented teams that never got laughed off the field like Moore teams have. If you wanna talk any smack, you better back it up.

Moore will talk smack all game long in a game where he has like 40 yards and no TDS. You look silly AF doing that.

Moore is the true definition of a thug! He’d drop a ball then get cocky with the opposition. Like he did anything good! At least Lock doesn’t do stupid things when he fails at his job. Moore does....I’m seen him many times shove a defender...get a penalty called on him....and just do stupid things on the field, after he failed to do his job! Big difference. Do something good and celebrate...I don’t care....drop a pass that hit you square in the hands, go back to the line and prepare for the next play, and for Christ’s sake shut your mouth!

The NFL is full of receivers and corners that do exactly what Moore does.

So is college football.

There is no way we can classify a young man who posted two 1,000 yard seasons, graduated with a degree, and put us in position to win against multiple teams as a "thug".

Does he talk trash? Yes...
Has he been in skirmishes? Yes...
Is it a part of the game on the perimeter? Yes...

I can only imagine if some of you all see what goes on in the pile of a fumble, or hear the smack being talked on the line of scrimmage, or hear some QB's talk to D lineman after the ball has been released.

We will never win anything of significance if we are putting J'Mon in a class that fans can't stomach. Was Sheldon a thug? Was Markus a thug?

Moore had a good college career. He couldn't consistently hang onto the ball on any route attacking the hash vs a two deep look. That kept him from having a great career. MU needed him to be a chain mover and he caught 5 balls on 99 3rd down passing attempts this year. That is deficient if you want to call yourself the #1 receiver. I wish him well but I'm ready to see what another WR can do with his reps.

Moore was and is a thug! Don’t try to dilute his actions! He was a poor receiver, and I don’t care if he had 40,000 yards, the drops in critical situations...ie 3rd down....the false starts from a receiver position...I can remember when he had 2 in consecutive snaps...but the thing that pisses me off the most, and describes him being a thug were his actions on the field where everyone could see. I’m glad he’s gone, and I never want another thug in his place.

Doesn’t make it right, and if behavior like that is ok with you, on our football team then you need to check yourself!

You have a totally different definition of thug than I do. In a testosterone filled sport, with so many emotions, with so many personalities and different approaches to the game, there is no way you can define trash talking and a skirmish or two as thuggish behavior.

I have seen Drew Lock throw interceptions that were clearly his fault based on coverage, fumble the ball from under center multiple times in a game his freshman year, and make the incorrect post snap read. Even with all that he still celebrates on the field for all the fans and cameras to see. All while putting up numbers in games we were down by 5 touchdowns, i.e. Auburn, to pad his TD stats. Is he a thug?

Being labeled a thug is one of the stereotypes black athletes work hard to overcome and I hate to see our fanbase play in to this narrative. We literally look at top tier programs keep impact players that are charged with felonies on their rosters. We have multiple heisman trophy winners who are brash and talk trash labeled as competitors and individuals with moxie.

Maty Mauk was labeled as a winner, a guy you would want on your team who fell on hard times, not a thug. We have seen and heard Sheldon Richardson, Shane Ray, and Markus Golden talk "big boy" trash to opponents on the field of play. Markus Golden was caught on a hot mic, he also taunted florida fans in the swamp, and I dare you to say that man is considered a thug by any measure.

You just don't like Moore, and that is ok, but to classify that young man as a thug. It is not right.

He keeps calling Moore a thug because he was part of the protest.

I have a question for this dude that keeps calling him a thug.
Was Bill Romanoski a thug who played in the NFL? Was Lawrence Phillips a thug that played at Nebraska?

I wouldn't call him a thug, just a very immature individual whose skill set far surpasses his mental capacity.

Was Christian Peter a thug?

Is Suh a thug?

Is Jmon a thug?

No.

Is Jmon a brash, talented athlete whose production doesn’t match his ability or his opinion of himself?

Yes.

You don't like Moore. I think that's well established but he certainly was not a poor receiver. Far from it.

He's not elite, but he's very good.

He needs to go listen to this week's podcast on PM and listen to what Lock said about Moore. He won't like it because it's too positive.

Lock is the first interview on Podcast 204

Gronk is far closer to being a thug than Moore. Concussing a player already on the ground is thuggish.

I’d classify Moore as just being more of an ego laced Tool with a capital T that didn’t back up his onfield BS with the right level of production especially, as navy pointed out, his piss poor third down rates.

I don’t ever remember J-Mac jawing and getting into hand slapping arguments with DBs who bumped him around all day.

DX either.

It's kind of been a mizzou football thing for several years now to talk shite and then get their asses kicked. Goes back at least as far as 'old man football'. Was still alive and well when Texas waxed our arse last week.

Moore was a soft receiver who put up big numbers for Mizzou. He talked trash as well (oh, the horror)

That's that

Of course they were, but what does that have to do with Moore? Stay on course much, or is straying away more suited for you?

I wouldn’t use the term thug, rather knucklehead. Was Sheldon a knucklehead? Yes. Marcus??? Golden, nada. Always represented Missouri well. This program will be just fine without Moore IMO. There are many a folks in athletics that are wonderful athletes, but don’t play with a winning mentality.
