I’m good with whatever Drink does, but I think the consensus of the fanbase is that we want him to stay - with a new OC.

Stay but with no raise. That shite has to stop. He needs to earn the next raise.

You can give him a raise. It just doesn’t have to put him in the stratosphere. It’s much cheaper to keep him and pay him $1M more.

We have butts in seats. We practically doubled ticket prices. It’s very easy to lose butts in seats.

He isn't worth top 8/9 money. He hasn't earned that. Our football revenue isn't even top 25.

Drink will announce he's accepted the PSU job after Senior night. Probably a Monday midday announcement

That's some inside info..

My friend at the athletic program didn't go that far but that it's Penn State but no timeline. His agent is doing all the work, Drink has entertained all big name jobs.

Cool. I think Drink is going to get out before he gets on the hot seat next season (his SEC record isn't all that great) ... he'll probably be going from the frying pan, directly into the fire unless he moves to the Penn State.

Throw a bag at Sumrall, Dillingham or Franklin. All young, all better at Xs and Os and after watching a couple recruiting videos on Dillingham, he would be my new #1:

1. Dillingham
2. Sumrall
3. Franklin

He'll be in the frying pan at PSU but so what? He'll get such a windfall that it is probably worth it even knowing you are likely to fail in 3-5 years. He can say he gave it his all to win a title and will just have to live with the $50MM+ sitting in the bank.

I don't understand the Penn State rumors. They just fired their coach for not being able to beat Ohio State and Oregon.

Why would they hire a coach that can't beat Bama and A&M?
Or most ranked SEC teams when we play them?

Now, if MU had broke through and beat Bama or A&M and Vandy, I would understand the argument. But we did not.

I get it.

Brings Zollers (and that other QB) back to PA ...

Drink will have more success in the Big 10 where throwing the ball is optional (outside of OSU/Oregon) and PSU is immediately top 3-4 in the Big 10, every season ...

I never understood the Florida, LSU, Auburn conversation cause Drink is not SEC quality ...

The PSU decision is based on...

1. PSU doesn't have a sophisticated NIL program in place. They need a coach who has experience being a NIL/Donation CEO.

2. PSU wants a steady low key personality they can count on for years. A HC that represents the PSU brand.

3. The HC market is thin.

Indiana is going to make the playoffs 2 consecutive years and you dont see the draw of PSU, 110k seat stadium, and a b1g schedule?

This is the understatement of season, so far. This is going to be a terrible year to hire a head coach but it will sure as hell be exciting to follow.

You make my argument for me.

it's the Big 10. You look amazing if you get a schedule that does not have Ohio State or Oregon in it (Indiana last season) because the rest of that league is Who Cares??

Drink could be top 3 or 4. I don't think he could be top 1 or 2.

Franklin just got fired after putting up season after season of top 3 or 4, but he could not beat 1 or 2.

Now Venom's arguments about NIL do carry some weight. I don't know how with it Penn State's recruiting is, because I do not care about Penn State.

Do you want your problems to go away there's only one name out there that can fix this problem but he will never be hired

Your new offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at Mizzou is:

Chase Daniel

As far as former Tigers go I like Jeremy Maclin. He has a quiet charisma and name recognition for recruiting. Five years high school experience. You would have to think he knows offensive football.

I could see Sean Weatherspoon as his DC. Seans charisma is all out in the open for recruits to see.

Back to reality I will be good with whoever a committee like we had the last time and the boosters decide to hire.

Just imagine being the team knowing your Coach is basically gone, it's 100% a distraction and their lack of preparation vs TAMU is proof of it.

I got Miss State this weekend officially putting the nail in our seasons coffin.

“It’s probably no more distracting than trying to decide if you’re going to run for United States Senate,” Eli Drinkwitz
