For?
--------------------------------------

For saying Haith was a much better coach than most thought and we would likely experience a decline.

Haith averaged about 24 wins a season at Mizzou and we probably won't even win 10 games this year. That's not a tough decision on who's the better coach. Yes Haith won with MA players who didn't play well for MA.

Kim might be a good coach down the line, but right now this guy stinks. You don't play a half court offense without any outside shooters. They are a team with a bunch of young slashers, so you press the ball and push it up the court and live off the transition game for most of your offense. How often do you see us trying to play a half court offense and milking the clock and then taking a bad shot at the buzzer of the shot clock.

Who is gonna say, "yeah, I would have sucked at Missouri this year"? No one, I have no problem with what he is saying. To everyone that is not a missouri fan, it seems likely.

Haith's teams were always efficient on Offense and beyond awful at defense. In the SEC you don't need defense to win 20 games, just offense. He might be right. Don't like the guy, but he probably has a point.

A better question maybe "how many guys that KA booted would Haith have kept?" Probably all of them and no one would have been suspended.

Haith is an NCAA infractions time bomb ready to go off. It's good we delt him or he delt us. He'll trip up somewhere and go down and drag what ever school he's at with him. It just about happened to Mizzou. Or maybe it did and we're seeing it now. Dunno. Just glad he's gone.

As far as the comment. He's always been a cocky little bastard. It's his only redeeming quality. But, when you're on the outside looking in, you can say anything if you don't have to prove it. He also didn't mention the first thing he would do is bring in about 3 or 4 transfers to get those wins. Cocky little shite.

That's probably the key. Haith would of had Cam, Punter, Jones and maybe a transfer or 2.
Not sure that 20 wins is the goal for anyone associated with the program.

Agreed. I really believe we would have ended up in the same place we were during Quin's last season if Haith had stayed. It really looked/looks like the secret of his recruiting success was big promises and ego stroking. No discipline on the court, just do what you want to do, and the best 5 play.

As far as offensive efficiency, I still see nothing to contradict the argument that his coaching ability left after the first season with the assistant coach (Nestor?) that went to Army.

Has our basketball program really come to squabbling over who is better - Kim Anderson or Frank Haith?

It's a free country (so far) and anyone can say what they want. Regardless if he is right or wrong about wins, you just don't say crap like this. Even the biggest scumbag coaches are more diplomatic. BB powers-that-be everywhere are storing his no-class and pompous comment for later reference. Pride comes before the fall. His fall will be epic.

Actually you run whatever offense you are trying to instill in your program. As far as Haith goes he's playing a completely different type of schedule. Mizzou would be well above 500 in that conference. We on the other hand have had one of the top 6 schedules in the country. I'm sorry, but this post is a joke

No. Just no. I'm all for giving KA time to get things turned around, but this team lost to UMKC, nearly lost to teams like Elon and hell, UMSL had us on the ropes for a long time in the exhibition game. I'm all for giving him time but this team doesn't finish over .500 nearly any conference.

If you really think Haith could have won 20 games with this team, you are delusional and know nothing about basketball. It's almost laughable. We could have had a coaching staff of Phil Jackson, Coach K and Tom Izzo this year and still wouldn't have surpassed 15 games with the current roster.

The point was this Mizzou team would not have finished at .500 in Tulsa's conference either anyways.

Class there, unlike Haith.

Reedus did you see this team play Okie St, IL, Arky. This team does beat the Sam Houston States of the world. UMKC was the first game of the season and basketball is not football, upsets happen ALL the time in college basketball. Yes this team does finish 500 in actually most of the conferences in the country outside of the Power 5

We would be favored right now against roughly half of that conference. Except for Tulsa, SMU, Conn and Memphis. Valpo is 22-4 and 9-2 in conference. We beat them handily. We would be favorites to win a lot of the conferences in America. Stop acting as though this team is one of the worst in basketball. They are a young team that's played a tough schedule and had discipline issues up and down the roster. Let's not make it more than it is. I get it that they are frustrating, but to act as though it's the coaches fault is a bit much at this stage in a complete rebuild. The injury to Clark is going to hurt this team even more so we've got that to look forward to . On a side note Duece Bello has no clue how to play basketball and we are forced to start him right now.

I did see them play those games. And I agree, they showed glimpses in those 4 games (including LSU). But as fast as it appears, it disappears.

Upsets do happen. But not Mizzou losing to UMKC. Nope. That's a whole different level of upset. The teams we beat are:

Valpo (good win but should be a no brainer ordinarily)
Oral Roberts
Chaminade
SEMO
Elon
Lipscomb
LSU (good win but should be next to a no brainer ordinarily)

We'll never know, but I don't see this team finishing above .500 in:

ACC
Big East
SEC (obviously)
Big 12
Big 10
Pac 12
MVC
AAC
A10 (SLU is better than Mizzou and they're 2-9/10-14)
CUSA
Mountain West
West Coast (maybe)

The rest of those small conferences? Possibly but not given.
