Great. Take his $4 Million/year and go after Hugh Freeze.

He can rebuild his image while rebuilding our program.

STLToday - Drinkwitz open to hiring an OC for next season

Best takeaway from the article ...

quote:

“But there’s nothing within me that says, ‘Man, if I'm not calling plays … .’ There’s not enough ego there for me.

I don’t think it’s all that secret or inside information. It was on the Rock M podcast.

Its been word for awhile, he doesnt believe we are utilizing NIL the best way to help him and he feels the AD doesnt support him.

If Drink isn't happy here then he can show himself the door quickly. We don't need or want a HC that doesn't want to be here. Its a damn shame this man is given a HC job at an SEC destination and whines like a little baby about it, all while making $4m a year. I'm sure there are plenty of coaches out there that would be super happy to come here and do a better job than he has.

I didn't know that.

If he is complaining about the NIL with an AD that is all about the NIL...

Don't fire him, let his arse resign.

DF was hired with the sole purpose of NIL in mind given her particular legal career background.

We got Luther the NIL deal needed to get here. I dunno WTF Drunkwitz is smoking. I’m sure Schnucks could absorb another 5* or two and gladly right now. Maybe Drink needs to do a better job showcasing his turd of an offense to get better recruits to show interest long enough to throw an NIL at them.

The ego…. He won’t get another SEC job if he leaves for MU fires him.

This attitude definitely wont work at Mizzou. We need a builder like Pinkel was who doesn't make excuses. We dont need more AD support or NIL money to coach up our players better. This is Drink's way of saying his players just can't be coached.

No high level coach is going to look at any kid wanting to play for him and say "you just aren't coachable."

Drinkwitz would be damn lucky to be OC at Arky St. Who's going to hire him beside as an analyst??? He's a clipboard carrier up in the booth.

Eli is always late to recognize changes that need to be made. At least he recognizes it now.

"I think one of the things that I have accepted the challenge right now is that this is a situation that I've created and I need to fix it," Drinkwitz said. “It’s not somebody else's responsibility.

At 3-9 he should be fired...but they won't. At 4-8 he should be on the HOTTEST possible flaming seat at a minimum. I say eject Drinkwitz but I don't write big enough checks.

I don't need/want a pat on the back. I want a winning coach. I'm sick and tired of losing.

I was just ahead of the curve and not blinded by black and gold sunglasses. F**k the kool-aid drinkers.

So the ladies weekly bridge game.

If Drink is unhappy at Mizzou making $4M a year, he won't ever be happy.

It won’t. He wouldn’t have been hired at any other SEC school not named Vanderbilt or possibly Arkansas (and I’m not certain of this one) or possibly SC.

That he would think he could jump from Mizzou to Auburn at this point shows he’s not that connected to reality.

You’re going to have a more forgiving fan base at Mizzou than any school not named Vanderbilt in the SEC. And if won the division here, he could significantly increase his already solid compensation. He’s making the same base salary as Matt Campbell, who has a far better resume. He’s getting ~top 40 compensation for not top 40 results.

Auburn? Maybe as their OC but not as HC. Harsin would hire him back im sure.

Drinkwitz post-Mizzou, as a Head Coach, would likely be something like Butch Jones at Arkansas State.

If that's accurate, I'm officially over his arse and the sooner he's out, the better.

I mean, we are never going to out recruit Alabama and Georgia or even Tennessee and LSU. But we can at least field competitive, well coached and well prepared teams against the big boys.

If he feels that he needs NIL to stack the team full of 5* then he's delusional. We don't have 1/3 the resources of a place like A&M, and look at how their hired guns that don't give a shite worked out.

THIS.

Which is why it was an idiotic contract for a 1 year HC from the Sun Belt in the first place ...

I mean Gary Patterson was getting $6 MIL as a 21 year HC with a record of 178-74 at TCU.

Jim Sterk was a jackass who didn't know what he was doing (see the Cuonzo hire, the Vitello miss, etc)
