At this point everything is speculation but a lot of smoke around FL last few days. I know nothing other than what I’ve read. I like Drink, but everything about his personality suggests he will work this to his advantage. It might be for an extension or another job. He should be careful what he wishes for if it is FL.

Drink doesn't field offers, agents do. He's not some G5 OC. Florida structures an offer, if Drink likes it, a formal interview is done and the AD presents to the curators for approval. If approved his agent reviews the contract, its sent to Drink and he signs.
A coach only has to jump through hoops when he doesn't have the obvious credentials.

Drink is a great CEO and recruiter after they stay away from play calling

If Drink would leave ..do you give Chase Daniel 10 million and the keys

You're not being serious are you? Being a fan is one thing, but you've got to be trolling with that idea.

Why? What has he done to show he is a HC?

Fixed it for you.
Daniel has zero coaching experience.
Great dude but he needs about 5-10 years doing Xs and Os, Jimmy's and Joe's...
I'd sooner give Navy a shot ...

I spend too much time shooting docks for crappie and quail hunting to be recruiting and coaching.

On second thought, Id chew on film and sit in the tower with binoculars on Saturdays if the money was right

Saw a post comparing Chizek and Gundy careers. Got me thinking with new CFP. Over 10 years, would you rather be guaranteed 1 championship but no winning seasons after or no championship but in contention each year?

Neither because of how it ended for both guys. It's why Pinkel leaving early was in his best interest.

If Mizzou wins this weekend with Zollers then give him an extension as he will finally have a talented QB. Also Moore doesn't have an extension offer after 2025 so it looks more and more likely he will be moving on after the season.

Drink just got an extension a few months ago. It makes no sense to do it again unless something drastic like a playoff appearance happens. Drink didn't even ask for a raise. I really dont think we are in this place of needing to do anything with Drink right now to keep him.

We've got some decent recruits watching so an extension calms the issue of him taking another job. An extension doesn't have to include a larger buyout. Also if he is parting ways with Moore (fingers crossed), he may need a little bigger assistant pool to steal an OC.
Im not advocating an extension with a huge raise, just an extension that helps recruiting and prepares for a new OC.

But again just a few month’s ago he signed an extension with no raise and an increased salary pool for assistants. We proactively addressed this and nothing has changed.

But with the several openings in big time jobs an extension now gets recruits to sign during the early signing period. Also if Moore leaves, stealing an established OC could be as high as 3 million. You want Drink to at least have the ammo to go after whomever he wants. Especially if Zollers proves to be the QB we have needed.
Including Ruffin there are 3 4 stars waiting to make a decision with Mizzou favored. Plus maybe a 4 star flip Petit. So the extension is more of just a "show" for them.

I'm hearing Penn State for Drink is coming back on strong.

Nah, their window was early on, to go after Drink now looks like their settling. Plus the Vandy loss didn't help. The only way Drink is in play for a big job is to smoke A&M and Oklahoma.

I don’t see it.
