I like Drew but I'm not sure he is worthy.

He left as the all time passing leader in the SEC with Odom as a HC 3/4 years.

I don't think that is correct. I think the only SEC record he held was the single season passing TD record and I think he only held it one year.

He had one great season but failed to win any big games. Not all his fault but just not worthy to be in a HoF.

Looked it up Murray was 1st, stand corrected, he was 2nd when he graduated, still woefully underrated by Mizzou fans.

I agree with you there. We would kill for someone like him lately.

Should Corby Jones be in? He is. I know it's comparing different eras, different schedules and different scenarios regarding where the program was at the time, but if Corby is in... well, then Drew should be and probably some others.

I know, it takes more than a QB to win games - but if you don't have a winner at that position you don't win very much. To me, WINS MATTER the most, especially at that position.
- Drew and Corby are close to even on games won
- Both took the team to about the same caliber bowl games
- Drew destroyed the stat sheet for passing
- Corby got us over the hump to actually winning more than losing

Here are the top 10 in career wins for a QB in Mizzou history (per the AI machine). Who should be in?

1 Chase Daniel* 30
2 Brady Cook 26
3 Brad Smith* 25
4 James Franklin 23
5 Paul Christman* 20
6 Blaine Gabbert 18
7 Drew Lock* 15
8 Maty Mauk 14
9 Corby Jones* 14
10 Phil Bradley* 13 (2 sport - baseball/football)

* - already in (I may have missed one or two because, well as usual, the links on Mizzou Athletics site are broken)

I know this may not be a popular opinion, but I think Franklin is most deserving on this list; Cook is too but it's still too soon. Though neither had the gaudy stats or big arms, both seemed to simply will their team to a signficant number of those wins and produced some of the most memorable years in Mizzou football history.

daniel, smith, franklin and maybe cook seem reasonable. I'd need to know what the standard for the hof is to really give a good opinion. When I hear a Mizzou HoF, drew just doesn't sound right with no other context. I dont know if the HoF is just for their sports contribution only to the university, the state, their entire career or what.

I'm not sure Andy Hill makes sense if it is supposed to be contributions to the Mizzou AD directly.

Good question here - I don't know if that is clearly defined or if it is just up to some commitee. Again, that fantastic MUTigers.com site is so helpful when trying to find information about Mizzou athletics (sarcasm). It's not unusual for local HOF museums to get a bit watered down after the initial waves of inductions (Cardinals HOF inductees lately don't seem to have the same weight as initial/early classes).

To be clear - I wasn't necessarily supporting Lock's induction, just comparing it to precedent with C. Jones. Not sure Jones should be in either - although he had the intangible of being a big part of the initial change to the culture of hte program. So again - what is the criteria?

Odom's scoring defense those 3 years

2016: 31.5 PPG 90th of 128 teams
2017: 31.8 PPG 97th of 128 teams
2018: 25.5 PPG 50th of 128 teams.

The offense averaged 31.4, 37.5 and 36.6 PPGd in those seasons.

Chase Daniel is the only QB in program history to average more PPG over 3 seasons as a starter.

Lock's biggest issue was the condensed part of the field. Having a better defense could have covered those warts.

And Lock covered some warts/holes on the offenses he was asked to lead as well. Plus, he may deserve entry just for putting up with that prima donna #1 wide receiver he had for the last couple years.

If I remember correctly, he did not have the best offensive lines in front of him and was asked to make a 100% boom or bust offense work time after time after time.

Moore is a polarizing player. 2015 magnifies the drops because he blocked his position at an elite level and had as much after the catch ability as anyone. He and JMac are the only WRs in program history to have back to back 1000 yd receiving seasons. The Packers used a mid round pick hoping they could coach him into finding the handles because once he found them, he was hard to get on the ground.

In terms of overall offensive warts, Moore and Johnson are in the top 10 in receiving yds and Hall is just outside it at #12. Hall and Moore are in the top 10 in receiving TDs and Johnson is 14th. Albert O had issues with health and is 2nd all time in receiving TDs.

Lock's top 2 RBs combined for at least 1700 yds each of those 3 seasons.

It was all on the offense to win games because average teams went through the defense like shite through a tin horn.

This is fantastic.... As I said, I got the initial win totals from AI (Google Gemini). I went back and asked again... this time it said 14 wins as a starter for DL, but when I asked it for details it showed the 21. So - I called out the descrepancy and this, I kid you not, was the response....

"You are 100% correct, and I completely botched that first answer. ??I hallucinated that "14" number out of thin air by completely flipping his record and claiming his 14 starting losses were his wins. There is no excuse for a sports stats error like that, and I appreciate you calling me out on it!"

If AI is taking over, we are f'd.

His teams had huge gaps to cover and that is why they never won a big game at that time. He really got wasted overall while he was here.

He really started the derailing the whole program. Lock was being brought along slowly with a series or two a game and Mauk's implosion threw him into the fire prematurely.

The protest finished the job and Pinkel along with it, but the loss of SEC momentum began with Mauk.

The staff should have moved on from Mauk when he refused to work with anyone but his brother. He was a mess mechanically and his decisions only made it worse.
