We’re not selling a burger. We’re selling an education, a relationship with a coaching staff and SEC football. If the Missouri coaches can’t sell that, they can return their paychecks.

We will do as well as the coach we are able to get and can afford. So for now we struggle to get to the middle of the east.

We lost the instate recruits to Ohio St, Oklahoma, Texas, Clemson and USC.

Are we really doing this again???

Yes. We’re doing this again. We are told don’t expect Mizzou to recruit nationally. Ok. Then when we whiff on almost every single in-state prospect in a year when we have more in-state talent than most years, we are told “We are Mizzou. It’s just the way it is.”

This was a hugely disappointing recruiting class for Mizzou. You can admit that without renouncing your ardor for Barry.

Already said its disappointing, but We are Mizzou. It IS the way it is.

Im not so sure why people have such a difficult time grasping this. Recruiting is 90% school, 10% coach. Could it be marginally better, sure. We'll never have our success or lack thereof tied to recruiting rankings.

Mizzou is never going to be a top 15 recruiting class every year school. Even if every year there is a strong Missouri 10. Oklahoma, Ohio State, Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson, etc will always come first. High level athletes are not looking at the education difference. They dont care about a family first atmosphere. The things that Mizzou can pitch are the things that 4* and 5* players done care about. They want proven consistant winners. Can that change at some point? Yes with the right head coach. But Barry Odom is a name brand Gary Pinkel in that he is the same level recruiter but not close to the same level Developer. The high level kids we get are the ones who just love mizzou through and through. But the Drew Locks of the world are few and far between.

No one expects that. But the in state prospects were aligned for us to have an abnormally good recruiting season. We performed well below our possible level.

UGA,UT and Florida have always recruited well and Mizzou has beaten them or played them very well. The problem isn't our recruiting rankings, its those 3 teams may now have great coaching to go along with their recruits. Bo got a real break in the 2nd half of last year, lets hope he learned some things that will keep Mizzou competitive.

I think it very much remains to be seen on Pruitt. Would not surprise me to see him fail. He's legitimately stupid.

We started the season 1-5 and haven't been good since 2014. We were overly optimistic in hoping that kids from an area who historically dont come to Mizzou would suddenly change their mind. There's another good crop of kids in Missouri next year and I'll give you a heads up, expect to land 1-2 of them.

NO wonder everyone shite talks Mizzou fans. Such pessimistic BS. We are Mizzou. We suck. Not even our homegrown talent likes us. Oh well. Let’s take the two stars. Wah.

GD pathetic. We need a better class of fans and support after the GP successes.

This recruiting class reminded me of most of the hoops recruiting classes over the last 15 or so years. Every time there was a really good class of basketball recruits in Missouri, Mizzou was either terrible, going through a coaching change or stuck in drama that kept elite local recruits away.
Once Mizzou started 1-5 most of the local recruits had eliminated Mizzou.
BO has to have his team ready to start strong if he wants to capitalize on another pretty strong in state class in 2019.

I was going to type a long response. But everything flows downhill. If Barry can’t identify, attract and coach up talent, he won’t be here long.

Reading would be your friend. No one said we suck. Just stating facts. Mizzou has not and will never be a high level recruiting school. Mizzou will win based on development. The best years of Mizzou football was with a 3* undersized QB and a 3* WR. Mizzou will have to win football the hard way. It will lead to some bad years. But expect most seasons to be similar to last. 7-8 wins and a bowl game.

We need better fans. That is true. It's a huge part of our problem.
