I have two buddies, one who goes to Tolton Catholic (same school as Porter) and another buddy who knows Porter's AAU teammate and they both said that there's no way Porter comes to Mizzou

We recruit nationally. Don't need top in state kids.
He's not that good anyways.
He doesn't fit KA's system anyways.
Not fair to expect KA to land 5* recruits.
Kids just want to spread their wings and get away from COMO.
KA is rebuilding a program, not a team.
1 and done doesn't help Mizzou anyways.

At the end of the day, I hope you're wrong (or your friends are) and KA does land him.
Saw that the Cook kid visited Arky I think last weekend. Wonder how that went.

This is all I have seen on it:
Highly recruited power forward Tyler Cook said his weekend visit to Arkansas has helped the Hogs in their recruitment of him.
Cook said the thing that stood out during the trip was that Coach Mike Anderson and his staff recruits good character kids. He liked that the atmosphere around the program gave him a home feeling. He thinks the practice facility will be one of the best ones in the country.
His mother, Stephanie was also impressed that the coaching staff recruits good kids. She said that's not always the case with other places. She would have no hesitation in supporting her son if he decided to be a Hog.
Cook, 6-9, 235 pounds, of St. Louis Chaminade College Prep lists Arkansas, Florida, Missouri, Iowa State, Iowa and Virginia as finalists out of more than 25 scholarship offers.

I figured he'd like the visit and it would put Arky in the mix.
Side note about his high school, besides Bradley Beal who tore it up in Washington, Chaminade has alums playing in both the NBA finals and NHL finals. David Lee for the Warriors and Ben Bishop for the Lightning. Not 100% certain if Bishop played for Chaminade or just on club teams though.

Bishop played for Chaminade. He would go back and forth though and they didn't always have him between the pipes.

Man, they have attracted or pumped out some players.

May be an interesting year in Hog land. Suitcase lost his two top players to the NBA draft. Also gone is his 3rd leading scorer who was a senior. Last year in his 4th season was the first time he made the NCAA tourney. Suitcase has two recruits Mizzou fans know well. Jimmy Whitt and Ted Kapita. Kapita battled injuries and has been rumored to not qualify. This could be his 4th of 5 years of not making the tourney for suitcase. Hog fans have been patient. How much patience will they have?

They're in a much better spot than the Tigers.

I know Tatum dropped Mizzou, and is down to his top 4, but he said on 101.1 ESPN that he'll be committing next month. If the Tigers can't have em, let's just hope it's either SLU or anyone besides KU!

I thought he dismissed Kansas when he trimmed his list?

He did, I just meant that after SLU and Mizzou, I don't care at all where he goes as long as it's not Kansas. I'd much rather he go to Duke or UNC over Kentucky though

Chaminade had a really good SR goalie Bishop's FR year, he was 3rd on the depth chart.
Sophomore year he was okay as a co-starter. Let in 5 goals on like 7 shots in game 1 of the quarter finals. He didn't start game 2. Kid would grow overnight and lose coordination for a month.
He got on the radar when he won a nat'l championship in juniors.
*I'll use this to plug his old mans restaurant for any St. Louisan's -- Bishop's Post in Chesterfield. Haven't been. Heard it's more of an upscale steakhouse.

How is Ark in better shape?

Arkansas will finish with a better OOC and conference record next year. They will have a better recruiting class than ours coming in. There is a zero percent chance we have a better year than them in any facet. Welcome to Mizzou basketball 2015-16.

If going into year 5 of our rebuild looks like Arkansas', I will be really disappointed.
