Why are we would against transfers. Many of the top players in Mizzou history have been transfers.

Why does Nestor get so much credit? His record as a head coach was not good, he left Mizzou for Navy. Navy wasn't good with him as a top assistant. His role has been way over blown, especially with him not recruiting

Transfers are fine when it's a here-and-there thing.

When you can find the right player, or the way classes shape out, it's sometimes okay.

But overall you don't want transfers -- why? Because it's very hard to cultivate culture with transfers. They're in and out too fast.

You want to build a sustainable culture, you can't dip into the transfer pool too often.

Elite players that it takes to win national titles would only be here a year or two, same as a transfer.

Does that mean you don't want teams that are built on those?

Rockmnation has an article on the 2017 targets. The top 3 targets that year are all guys that will only be at Mizzou a couple of years.

Obviously you want the one and done type player, but it certainly isn't what Mizzou should be built on. You want a squad that doesn't need that type of player to make or break the season, but can take you to the next level come tourney time. To compare having a Porter for one year that takes ones scholly to 6 transfers on one roster is silly. You need to eventually have balance in your classes to be consistent. Good programs go to the tourney in bad years. That's what I'm hoping Mizzou will get back to and I'm pretty sure Haith wasn't the guy for it. Hopefully Anderson can be.

We're not Kentucky. NC. Or Duke.

Kim Anderson is trying to build exactly what Pinkel has built -- a sustainable program built on a core of true student athletes.

We may be targeting one and done type players, but I doubt we get many, and if we do, they'll be here to fill out the need for star power, but the program will not be built on such players.

I just want to win, make the NCAA tourney, once there be a threat to win it.

2 of the last 20 years has that been true. Don't really care if it's with 4 year guys, D1 transfers, JUCO transfers.

It does sound like the coaches are targeting 2 post players next year. Even though there is only 1 open scholarship available as of now for the 2016 class.

Well, luckily for Mizzou basketball the people in charge have a plan with specific intentions on how to cultivate a solid and sustainable program.

Watching a little bit of this game I understand why KA stopped recruiting Tatum.

Sounds like Tatum will announce either after the game or at the next break.

So officially out on Tatum and I'm sure we were never in but now out on Miles Bridges, another Fulford kid. Well, I guess not so much a Fulford kid. Glad we're working that pipeline. Having said that, his final 5 are Michigan, Mich State, UNC, Indy and I think UK.

I get the not pursuing highly rated guys with no ties, but those were 2 that we did have ties with. Oh well.

Did you honestly say that Tatum was over rated? WoW! Heard that he committed to Duke. Is he over rated, because he didn't come to Mizzou?

Tatum is no doubt great, but he needs to play with a great guard at this point in his career.

Despite how gifted he & Cook are they haven't won state.

The good news for him is that Duke will have a great big & guards to surround him. He should be able to light it up.

Sarcasm my friend. Figured that that is what KA supporters would say. Something like, he needs a great guard with him in order for him to be good. I kid wublii. Sorta.

Tatum would be great no matter where he went and no matter who the other guards were. Not sure what you mean.

I would suggest that Tatum has won on a much higher level than just state.

If you have seen Tatum play in AAU he does great playing off the ball. The eye test suggest he is better equipped to play off the ball and be a pure scorer. Much like Carmelo Anthony. His efficiency is great in that role.

Where as his HS role is to do everything, a role that he likely won't have to play in college or pros.
