Most of the offensive positions outside of RB have been terrible.

OL talent level looks bad, really bad
WR talent is dreadful, your best WR this year was a walkon.
TE? Had to convert a DE to TE because it is so bad
QB? Had to bring in transfers

This is the main reason Barry was never going to work as a HC, he had no idea how to run or recruit an offense. He left it up to Heupel and Dooley, so when Dooley failed, he failed.

Dooley’s recruiting was way better than Huepel.

Thank God that Dooley is gone. What happened to Swinson who they always raved about?

I thought I read somewhere about Heupel hate to recruit and let others do the heavy recruiting.

That is why I am happy Mizzou went with an offensive minded coach. Quarterback is the key and then OL and DL. Not need to worry about looking for a good OC when the HC is the one running the offense.

Barry had a great tendency to talk up players who never saw the field

I don’t believe I’ve ever heard the coaches rave about Swinson. His hype was all pretty much fan created.

There was some talk about him going into his freshman season/fall camp. He tore his ACL in the first week though

The loss of scholarships was for the 2019/2020 class only. The team can go back to full strength 2020/2021 class. The scholarships dont hurt that bad, what would have hurt was the visit and contact restrictions. But luckily the appeal softened that blow.

I don't have 100% confirmation, but I've been told that the contact/visit restrictions will really hamper Drink after early signing day.

So when Drink tells us in 2 years that this is a rebuild, believe him. He may be a year behind in talent development.

This is what happened when you hired a new head coach. No matter who it is or which school it is it is almost likely all of them will have a not so good recruiting class as it would have been better. Give him time. If Mizzou plays well in his first year and you shall see a huge improvement in recruiting class.

I think the NCAA ban works in Drinks favor. The 1st year is a gimmee no one will hold against him.

So under these circumstances cutting Odom loose was for the best.

Take your scholarship hit now and let Drink get all his ducks in a row for a 2020/2021 megaclass.

I think hester will sign with us on Wednesday. There’s no way Drink didn’t treat him like a king this weekend along with the others in town. Every one of the kids in last weekend will be Tigers.

I think Drink is going to see what players are going to come available in the portal and go after some guys that are physically ready to for the SEC with the scholarships that have opened up with decommitments.

It would appear that Drink's trip to Tennessee and the official visit were successful:

A good sign indeed. Looking forward to seeing how he recruits over the next year, and what kind of players he targets.
