Love this get. This kid is a powerful runner. He's the RB I wanted in this class.

I like him too. I don't know how he'll respond to not getting to play immediately since he will likely have to sit behind Crockett and Strong for a while. It'll be interesting to see if we can still keep him. I thought he was for sure going to App State

Perfect redshirt situation. Learn the offense, get to a chiseled 210-215. Start getting plays/return kicks maybe as a RS Freshmen. Split the load and run for a 1,000 as RS Soph. The man as RS Junior.

Don't know if he will see it that way.

I wonder why he had such an unimpressive offer list?

Prior to committing, Rountree had also been considering James Madison, Appalachian State, North Carolina A&T and Boston College.

Mizzou's been after him for a while now, too. Maybe BO sees something in him other schools aren't

This won't matter in two years.

Did wr Eli Gardiner really commit to Mizzou?

247sports says yes and Rivals says that he is still uncommitted. This is a couple of tweets that I found on his twitter.

Mizzou recruiting twitter sent out the bat signal for him, so I'm going with that.

If you want to compare him to a previous back, Derrick Washington would be the place to start IMO.

The guys on campus this weekend per Rivals:
quote:

Adam Sparks CB 5.5 6'0" 175 Vanderbilt

Elijah Gardiner WR 5.6 6'5" 185

Yasir Durant OT 6'7" 345 San Diego State

Caleb Sampson DT 5.4 6'3" 280 Tulane

Zion Debose WDE 5.6 6'2" 210

Durant is very raw as a pass blocker but you can't coach a player to be enormous.

I'd like to see the staff get a committment from Debose. He is a RS candidate for sure but he has a great first step.

Looks like we haven't changed our recruiting strategies from Pinkel's.

What is your strategy for poaching a bunch of out of state 4* players in the first full recruiting cycle for the staff?

Can Alex Ofodile transfer from Oregon to a JC then transfer to Mizzou?

In his 2 years at Oregon he has 8 yards receiving.

If he can't get on the field in Eugene, do you think he would add much to the two deep vs SEC defenses.

He wouldn't take up a scholarship. If we added him for the 2018 season, he may get playing time and be productive. He has the talent

I will be very surprised if he transfers anywhere, much less to Missouri.

I watched him play all 4 years of FB. He was a good player but his #s were very elevated due to the competition he played against. He went to a scouting combine and struggled to separate vs the elite DBs. It was the last one he attended.

So I'm not the only one who thought he looked a little overrated? I remember watching him play in the state game vs. Blue Springs and you almost forgot he was even playing. Didn't even look like the best WR on his own team. Reuter looked more competitive, stronger, and stretched the field better than Ofodile. I think he's playing at K-State now
