That is unfortunate for the staff if true. These STL linemen going elsewhere is puzzling considering the guys that MU has sent to the NFL in the last 7 years.

As much as I love that we're getting these key out-of-state recruits, we have to recruit better in-state. I just makes us look bad tbh

Yeah, this one stings.

I'm now more worried about Lovie

It's cliche' but it's not over until signing day with these guys. If Heupel, Elarbee, Hill, and Ford(still is odd to include him on the offensive staff) can get 25 ppg on the board this year MU should contend for the east. Illinois will likely get it pushed in facing the B1G's 5th toughest SOS.

It's going to be tough sledding but if they can get to the last 4 games with 2 losses, they will have recruits in the stands with 71K in the stadium. Pull out some wins and they can flip some guys.

Yup. Lovie is a likable guy and will undoubtably point out what happened on campus last year and ask if the players believe Mizzou is the place for them.

Let's hope Lovie gets crushed. Results on the field are the only thing that can help us.

Likeable. Well thought of in STL. SEC experience at UK and UT. NFL coaching and HC experience. Being black will certainly not hurt him. We are going to lose a good number of players to him. I have no doubt.

Maybe the NFL will come calling again.

I'd be shocked if we're putting up 25 ppg. I'd be thrilled with 20 ppg. I think somewhere between 15-20 ppg is more likely.

I'm not saying that to be critical. I'd actually be really happy with any improvement. I would love to be wrong.

About the same on having only 2 losses going into the last 4 games.

Lol. Let's not go crazy. Odom took their top tight end prospect out of IL just earlier this cycle.

He'll get some guys. He has name recognition.

Don't be surprised if we flip Boyd either.

They scored 24 ppg with 22 redzone attempts and went 7-1 in conference play in 2014 with Mauk completing 42% of his throws in the RZ.

They scored 9 PPG on 19 redzone attempts last year and went 1-7.

Play calling and Lock knowing what he is looking at pre snap can bridge that gap.

We should never lose a kid we really want to Illinois. They're a Big 10 doormat, it's ridiculous.

Not any more!!!

Lovie has become a factor in St. Louis and Mizzou better move hard on Jeff Thomas. Wait until you read this.

Just sounds like one kid who is infatuated with him. Little over the top.

He won't be able to play the "Hey man, I got fired twice in the NFL" schtick for too long

As for them not being a doormat any longer. Yeah, they still are. Couple of 3 stars out of St Louis probably won't change that.

Yeah we're not flipping Boyd. Right now I'm more worried about Lovie flipping some of our commits or winning even more recruiting battles.

Graves is the only remaining Missouri kid available.
Definitely need to do some major work in Texas this year.

Dude, Illinois has to win some first. It's 2 kids, he's not exactly setting the world on fire right now, and when he goes 4-8 this year, we'll see how much pull he still has.

Or 2 kids in 2 days. 1 of which we really wanted. I hope the staff isn't as dismissive. Hate to say it but I think Lovie is here to stay. He'll improve Illinois. He'll always be liked and remembered in STL. He'll continue to win more recruiting battles than Illinois used to in the STL.

Best thing we can do is play them and pound them and remind everyone who the real player here is. Of course, lose those games and you feed the Lovie train more

They will win more under Lovie. They won't win championships but they will win more.

The Illini recruiting class is ranked 13th in the B1G.

Ranked 68th nationally, Mizzou is 48th.
