The one thing that Matter has that we don't is access. Which gives him mor info than we as fans have. Even then the program has significantly decreased the level of access journalists have the past few years.

What does he do with that access? David Morrison formerly of the Tribune put together far better analysis in his post game articles and kept a running tabs on things Matter never touches on. Matter puts more effort into hem-hawing on Tiger Sidelines with DeArmond and Beau and dodging questions on his weekly chat than he does really breaking down what he watches from his perch in the tower on game day. He craps out a couple of quotes from the HC, a captain, and never really talks about anything of substance.

He wrote a pretty good article today about the ESTL pipeline.

Awesome. 10 quotes and a balanced rehash of shite that he didn't need access to get.
If you like him fine. He is an average writer and doesn't take anything on.

He also said after scrimmages last year that the WRs and the passing game would be good. Other local beat writers said the same. They were all way off.
I don't really follow them for X&Os or for personel. More for what journalists do, which is the stories.

Pinkle and Maty Mauk said the same thing about the receivers, plus Pinkle said they were the best athletes that he has had since he's been at Mizzou. Seriously!

Pinkel's comment was on the group as a whole. E.Hall, Brown, Moore, Dilosa, and Blair are all 4.5 40YD with 35"+ Verts. MU has had a couple guys on the charts at one time with those numbers but never 5.
Athleticism wasn't the issue last year. It was fundamentals: Thumbs in vs thumbs out on the catch, what direction to lean, when to move your feet, when to sit down in the route to break the zone, counting time to direction changes....... All of that eroded after when Washington took over the WR room. It will come back.

If you think recruiting hasnt improved since we joined the sec you are delusional.

Never made sense to move Hill off of WR and made even less sense to roll without a real QB coach.
Very smart move by Odom to remedy both

I never liked that decision at all. Hill's room was like Stec's LBs. You could count on them to play fundamental ball and not make many mistakes.
Between that and staying with the combination of Hall and Chappell until the season was toast, Henson cost the entire offensive staff their jobs.
I never got sticking with Leftwich either. He had rock paws and couldn't get open. Everyone spooged about his track speed when he committed. He couldn't get a release on the line and couldn't block his position. Yet he started every game.

We are in this dude's Top 5
Along with Clemson, Kentucky, Nubbers and Georgia Tech.
Seems a true top 5, no indication of any favorites unless you want to pointlessly parse his comments from here

Impressive. Not sure it was 99 yards but I'll take it. Excited to see him on campus.

Cusomano tweeted he talked with Sunkett who left him with the impression that Thomas is liking Mizzou a great deal these days.

And the crystal ball has Mizzou at 81%. Still have work to do, but Mizzou is buckled in the drivers seat.
Posted on 8/22/16 at 3:29 pm to reedus23
Sunkett did an interview with insidestl and said Thomas was leaning towards Mizzou.

The crystal ball has Mizzou at 81%, because they flipped his best friend Estes to Mizzou. The crystal ball at one point had the o-lineman Boyd 100% to Mizzou and he choose the Illini. It had the wr Ofodile the previous year at 100% Mizzou and he choose Oregon in the end. Let's just wait and see and not get too caught up in the hype and start bashing the kid if he happens to choose Bama or somebody else. I hope he chooses the Zou, but life goes on if he doesn't.

Can't you just let us enjoy this without bringing facts and logic into it? Haha
