I'm noticing that's a common theme with his posts. ATL is a new hot bed for us and that would be sweet. Especially if Spoon comes back and is the player he is capable of.

Yepp, in fact, I'd rather ATL get Ray instead of STL since STL is about to become LA. Seriously though, having that Mizzou presence down there in recruiting territory is a good thing IMO.

Flipping around last night and one of the ESPN stations had practices from the UA all star game on (practices? high school practices? really?). The ESPN commentators felt if Beckner were to commit today, it would be FSU. Yeah, I know, they don't know shite, but thought I'd pass it along.

Fun fact: I got drunk the other night with Terry Beckner Jr 2nd cousin, and he said last he heard from within the family mizzou had the strong upper hand.

So.

That is great in depth journalism. Way to sacrifice for the story. I love it!

As far as FSU and Beckner, I think when he said FSU was "wild" wasn't necessarily a positive. If you're a kid, any kid, you don't let your parents know someplace is wild if you want to go there. Do you remember ever telling your parents the party at your friends house was going to be wild? No. You tell them a couple of friends are going to watch a movie and eat popcorn. That's Mizzou for Beckner. He's going to have a great time at Mizzou, maybe even wild, but he's got the natural teenage instinct not to say so.

does anyone know if Oregon has any other big time WR recruits they are going after? Maybe they could get some commits there and we could get a flip from Ofodile

Lord knows we could use all the WR we can get

PS, on twitter I saw that Drew Lock looks really good at the Army All American practices

I think Ofodile is an early enrollee and has already signed his financial papers at Oregon so I think that ship has sailed.

We have not done very well with the Columbia, MO student athletes lately. I think we will also lose the super soph Michael Porter, Jr

What makes you think this? The kid and the family love Mizzou. As long as our team shows a pulse in 2 years and his family is still employed, all indications are he will end up at Mizzou.

I thought we were talking football recruiting. What does some highschool basketball player have to do with it? I would love to have him at Mizzou, but please discuss this elsewhere. I love football not basketball. Sorry for being a jerk, I just don't want to hear bickering about basketball players when I come here for 1 sole reason.

I'm with ya. We all get sideways at times as long as it doesn't drag on.

Back to football, it sounds like Beckner impressed. Saw some vines on the twitters. I'll see if I can get them over here.

I think the point was about the struggle to recruit Columbia. Doesn't really matter the sport. Could just be kids wanting to get away and experience something new. Would be good if MIZZOU could start successfully recruiting columbia.

Not aware of any JUCO WR's. Seems Pinkney is the most possible maybe. Jalen Julius I think is another one of those athletes that could play WR or DB. I know he showed up to our practice down there in Florida and tweeted good things about it.

As for outstanding offers:

Ryan Newsome 4* Texas - Not gonna happen
Devonte Peete 4* Florida - At the time we offered, he said good things about Mizzou but has gone quiet since. My guess is no here too.
Jared Pinkney 3* Georgia - At 6'5", has height and someone correct me if I'm wrong but he's either visiting or just visited. Think he might be here 1/23.
Rickey Preston 3* Louisiana - Heard zippo here
Darrell Clark 3* Louisiana - Zippo again
Damian King NR Florida - No idea
Jonathan Johnson 3* Tennessee - Again no idea
Ryan Davis 4* Florida - Not likely

Who am I missing? Anyone?

He's not. Wanted to play his last year of basketball in high school. Now pray he doesn't blow out a knee playing hoops.

As a result, unless Mauk has a meltdown or season ending injury in the first few games, Lock will not be a starter next season. Not enough practice time with the team. Pinkel does not start true freshmen. Lock will be a great QB for us, just not next year.

Not for the next 2 years. GP will never pull Mauk. Short of injury like you say.
