I guess we will hear from you all spring that someone is taking the QB spot from Franks and that he will transfer.
This is inevitable. Most coaches don't play leftovers from previous staffs over their own guys -- especially when they're not a good fit for the offense.

Unless someone really steps up or Franks regresses, he will be the starter again in 2019. I know you don't want to hear that but that's the way it is.
I don't care about it that much, Franks will always show his limitations vs. good teams. You said he was much improved, but just look at the poor play vs. teams with winning records. Most people here dogged me for McElwain's record vs. winning teams and they were right.
Franks:
18 Passing Touchdowns vs. Two FCS teams, three teams that won't bowl and 6 - 7 Vanderbilt.
6 Passing Touchdowns vs. the other 7 teams on our schedule.
"Greatly improved" for Franks is still no where near where he's needed.
Also: Trask did take his spot last year, and by the grace of Hillary Clinton broke his foot -- to think Emory won't push for the job in 2019 is crazy.

I guess we will see, I will support whoever the coach say gives us the best chance to win. As of the end of the Peach Bowl, that was still Franks.

Mostly because of a broken foot and an aversion to starting a true freshman.
It's so bizarre to me that people really puff up Franks' accomplishments. Especially since he only had what, 161 passing yards vs. Michigan? One passing touchdown?

I still don't understand the mentality of injecting yourself in these conversations if the depth of your argument is whatever someone else says. We're discussing the future of the position, not whether or not we support someone.
You can objectively look at a position while simultaneously supporting the player in the position.

If that’s all we are doing then I believe Mullen get 40 td’s out of Franks next year.

I could see it, if he's the starter and remains the starter all year. Especially with the players around him. We don't have as many cupcakes, but the guys around Feleipe are really, really good. A lot of his TD passes at the end of the year were quick outs or even flares to the RBs.
However, I'd really like to see a quicker QB, or even more of a natural runner.

And you believe this is what you are actually doing?

100%.
I come with stats, stills, detailed explanations and a decent amount of knowledge surrounding the position while most people who debate me (especially here) just whine about it.
Supporting someone =/= Supporting everything about them.
I've said multiple times what he does well and corrected people from making weak arguments. If you don't like hearing how he feasted on cupcakes but went 3 - 3 against teams with winning records, then maybe football discussion isn't for you?

I can accurately say that I have probably forgotten more about football, particularly Florida football, than you will ever know. But, I still am open for discussion when it doesn't involve constantly bashing a player. It's like discussing politics with a liberal democrat.

Giving you stats to support something isn't bashing.
Bashing is saying how retarded he looks with that pubic region on his chin, or how he's a shitty person, or that he's stupid. Butterteeth/Shark fricker are examples of bashing.
Me saying that he's only had six passing touchdowns vs. teams with winning records and that the offense was stagnant aren't bashing, those are facts.
He's good at managing the game, and when he takes the short passes and falls forward he becomes almost above average. However, my contention has never been personal nor simply with the intention of bashing him -- it's that he only does well when his bubble remains unpunctured. Great Quarterbacks step up to the plate when adversity comes their way.
Tim Tebow's 2008 year vs. FSU (9 - 4), Alabama (12 - 2) and Oklahoma (12 - 2), he threw for 8 touchdowns.
Or two more passing touchdowns than Feleipe had against: UK, MSST, LSU, UGA, Michigan, SCAR and Missouri combined.
Being old doesn't validate your argument.

Former #Gators safety Matt Elam (Uncle) is also expected to be with 4?? CB Kaiir Elam on his official visit to #Florida this weekend.
Must get

Yep, I heard that as well. I think the Gators were always #1, though, just because of that connection.
We need DBs bad, too. Safeties are aging and we desperately need a talent injection at the position.

Agreed. Really need DBs. Steele is a huge get to sure up one side. Now we need to lock down the other side. McWilliams clearly won't. Barney could not sure on him yet. Dean is best in nickel like Gardner, or at safety. Wouldn't mind him and Brad back there would be a very nasty secondary with Wilson, Henderson, and Steele or Barney on the inside.

Honestly, this is gonna sound a little wild but I'd love for Steele to start at STAR. Dude is freakishly aggressive, HATES WRs and I'd love to have Dean move back to Safety.
Our safeties weren't really near at the level we needed them to be at outside of maybe Stiner for a few games.

Im all for Dean at Safety, Steele at Star and Burney at OLB

Probably nothing to it, but there is a rumor that Sal may be leaving for the AZ Cards soon.
Posted on 1/12/19 at 8:15 am to dbuchanon
That would hurt Sal is a top tier position coach

Like I said, just a rumor. We'll see. Wish he crooted DTs better
