Is he being truthful or did his imagination get the best of him?

I’m finding it hard to believe there are any fans out there that really care this much about a crappy team. And, they’re only 3-3. It’s not like they’re 2-4 or whatever FSU is. And all the Noles are doing are picking fights with Jimbo, not death threats.

The more Coach Mac tries to walk his claim back, the more I think he’s full of it.

Just like other fan bases, we have trashy fans that have the Internet and can find anyone. It's a scary world out there.

I've heard mostly his kids at school are getting the threats though. Great parenting.

Honestly, you have to chalk it up as part of the job at any big school. They pay you extra big bucks, you can afford the security.

I hate that it's like that. But that's the world we live in.

The statement from the UAA says a lot without actually saying all that much. Not sure how Mac is going to handle this, but it's not a good look for him.

Look at TJ’s melt last year. Yes, we have retarded fans that act like that.

Just go on Twitter.

Now, I can see stupid HS kids saying crap like that. But, if that’s the source, I would hope CJM would know the difference between a dumb kid and some 58 yr old dude from Palatka.

I don't have Twitter and even though I despise Mac as a coach, I wish his family no harm. If youre talking about Straws that's a special case.

Believe Mac’s youngest graduated college.

Maybe it was in college. Either way, those are the rumors.

He could easily just be making it all up for sympathy. Wouldn't surprise me given his narcissistic attitude.

Paving the way for him to leave, perhaps? This whole thing is weird

It’s a dark time in this country so it wouldn’t surprise me if it were true. That being said it looks a little weird right now like maybe he was exaggerating. We will see I guess.

Just more shite to throw on the burning shite heap.

The fact that he wouldn't tell the university any additional details and basically forced them into a forced statement... it does seem that way.

Honestly, if he's not happy here -- if his heart isn't in it -- then he needs to bolt and stop tearing us down.

I’m starting to think it’s a very real possibility.

Heard a week or two ago he wasn’t happy that they decided to move the new football facility to the site of the old baseball stadium because it added time to completion. Then this bizarre PC, thought his denial of interest in Oregon State was tepid at best. Obviously that got overshadowed by this other stuff.

If he made this up, he should be fired immediately.

Absolutely no excuse for concocting something like that up.

One thing it does do is it makes it look like he is completely in over his head.

Actually a pretty solid argument. What did he say to me? He'd throw a party if the cartel cut my head off?

I can see someone doing that.

I absolutely believe it's true, but I cringed when he went there. Not a good look at all for him, the fans, or the program.

Wish he wouldn't have brought it up at all, but I looked up on twitter his name and the word "die"/"kill" etc and found three death threats against him. His address is well known and people are bold with anomynity. I certainly believe there are people who have their priorities out of whack enough to give Mac death threats. It's sad, but it's the state of the world we live in.

I actually think this may be a way for Mac to set the stage for him to bolt for another job if something opens and a big enough program shows interest. I don't think he goes anywhere, but I think it's a way to crack that door for himself.

I hate creating this distraction and controversy the week of a big rivalry game against a top 3 team. I can't reiterate enough I wish he wouldn't have said this at a press conference.

I really didn’t know what was worse. When he addressed the Oregon st article or the death threat comments.
