You are more than welcome to go to another board.

Oh wait.

Every Gator board is this way.

It's what happens when passionate fans who love their school see problems with the coaching staff. It's called being a fan. Fanatic. We all love UF, and we will find the side we think helps UF the most. For me? Firing Mac and immediately offer Frost the job at the end of the year.

Why do you want Frost? He has little HC experience. WE MUST STOP hiring coaches to learn on the damn job. We need a PROVEN coach that has been through hell and back. Not some hot shot who's never fielded a press conference.

Go get Strong. Bring him back home. He knows Florida recruiting. Or go get Kiffin. These guys have had to learn from their mistakes at other schools. We do not need Frost learning at UF. frick that.

He turned a dead program from 0-12 to 6-7 to 6-0. All while killing bad teams and beating the good ones.

Kiffin has been fired, left at airports by former teams and you want him here? No way

Good OC
Terrible HC.

I'm not sure he has that much more to learn. There are very few guys that have had the experience of running a big time program. The good ones stay at their job and the bad ones get fired. I personally don't like the idea of bringing in a retread and hoping they learned from their mistakes.

Strong should have been the hire after Meyer, but IMO that ship has sailed. Frost would be met with tremendous fanfare and create positive momentum among the program. Strong and Kiffin could work, but neither hire would be popular and that's never a good place to start with a new coach.

Kiffin was tossed into the head coach position before being 30 for one of the worst organizations in sports. No wonder he failed. The Tenn move was douchey, but he had a chance to coach at a better job and did it the wrong way.

I think being under Saban helped him grow. He is older now. Notice crazy stories finally stopped surrounding him?

Guy is cocky, recruits like a boss, and is absolutely amazing at finding advantageous match ups to exploit in game. He would get Toney or Massey covered by linebackers and safeties all day long.

I used to hate Lane Kiffin. But I have turned a corner on him, I think he deserves a wash of the past because of his youth. He seems to have grown up at Bama more. I would think the risk is high, so you put together a contract to protect the University. If he has changed, it won't bother him.

Something like

4 years - 3.4 a year - bonus's for classes, finishes, etc.

Small buyout for UF the first 2 years, then increase each additional year till at the normal buyout level to protect UF from him sucking.

Then add a clause of him owing money if he leaves that is large. It may be hard to push to an agent but basically say this is the offer, take it or we grab Frost.

I would put a lot of money on Lane winning big at his next program. I just get that feel from the guy. May just be me being naive. Just see it for some reason.

Strong after Texas I don't want. He is like Mac. Better at a smaller program to me.

Leach
Frost
Kiffin

My top three choices right now.

That is of course after you call Chip Kelly and Bob Stoops and make them say no, because why not?

I just don't trust the guy, but Id take him if he's the guy UF goes after even though he's not my first choice. Then again, Neither was Boom an Mac. But i'd support him either way like i did those 2.

Not mine either, I just have that feeling about him for some reason. Five years ago I hated the guy and laughed my arse off at him getting jobs. Now...I don't know. I sense he has fixed his issues some and knows how to be a CEO a little bit better now.

I would certainly be excited to see him run our offense. That much I'm sure of.

We all hated Kiffin because he tried to out Meyer and immediately became UF's public enemy #1. He has done a lot of douche things but so has Meyer. It's hard to not have warts in this sport. He actually did well at Oakland and actually turned UT around. He's done a miracle job at FAU which really speaks volumes to me.

I'm not a fan of Stoops. He's like Mark Richt. Wins a lot of games but can never win the big one. If we want to win East titles, Stoops is a great choice and he might be good for a few years just to turn things around but I don't see him as a long term solution. Plus, why did he leave OU?

Leach reminds me of Spurrier. He'd probably turn the offense around immediately but what about the defense and special teams? He's an unknown as well.

Strong and Kiffin both stand out to me as sure bets. They both know Florida recruiting and have installed potent offenses. Both guys demand discipline on and off the field and all their teams got better as the season progressed which is most important.

I don't think he would lie about this. Too many crazy people out there for it to not be true. I think he handled it horribly but not enough to fire him for cause.

I do think we're at the point of no return with Mac. It's time to move on and most likely eat the buy out. Sucks but this is what happens when you don't have a good hire to start with. No more experiments.

I think with a good DC, hell we could keep the staff we have now and we'd be ok. The DC he has is actually doing a pretty good job.

He has a lot of Spurrier in him which is something to be excited about. I think he gets a bad rap regarding defense but his teams have done pretty well. He checks all the boxes for me.

One thing for certain... He'd bring the fun back into the team that started it. I actually don't care about defense that much if we can throw up big numbers on offense. I miss having a team that can score anytime, anywhere.

I think with our talent, Our defense would be fine with a good DC.

I know with our talent, His offense would be a juggernaut. I believe he could turn Franks young career around. We'd be running "6" about 20 times a game with his arm strength

I’m reading all of this and I have to laugh. For two reasons.

Mac is still our HC.

You all know that Stricklin is making just one call if he fires Mac. And that call is to STARK VEGAS!

Not agreeing. Just sayin’.

Stricklin is in the middle of a fundraising campaign for $100 mil plan. One call from a big time bosster that Mullen pissed off during his tenure as OC will kill the flight to Starkvegas.
