We all know Aubbie, isn't very good but it's so hard to get up for a game every week in the SEC you just can't play Alabama, Texas, and Tennessee in a 3 week span and expect to go 3 and 0 no matter if all 3 games were at home you would have a let down in one

This is why its time to abolish the championship game now that you play 9 conference games
All the championship game will do is pretty much eliminate the team thst loses, especially if both teams have 2 losses,
just say this year hypothetically speaking its Georgia and Kentucky in the championship game both with 2 losses
You telling me that a 2 loss texas or 2 loss Alabama or a 2 loss Lsu is going to get booted for a 3 loss Kentucky team,
So its time to say goodbye to the SEC championship game

The SECCG was great for its time, that time has passed. Serves no purpose and gives no advantage for the conference in today’s playoff format.

I think if the defense actually shows up we might could win with a basic running game like we had against TX. Baugh being under 4 yards a carry would make a win tough to get though. The SEC is crazy so far with how teams look week to week though and is a bloodbath so you never know.

t the end of the day, we go with the QB who won the game for us. Last time I checked all that matters is who wins the game. Not looking at stats. It's not like Philo is helping us win games. He's just trying really hard not to lose them. But when we do lose, the spotlight is on him. Especially in the way the offense performed in those losses. Can't just blame the OL every time.

Jones threw for a buck fifty against Texas on 35 attempts , You're acting like he threw for 400 yards and 5 TDs and ran for another or something

Philo beat OM and in his first SEC start beat Auburn on the road when our defense was doing everything it could to lose that game.

I think Jones probably has a higher ceiling, but from what I've seen so far I think his floor is also lower. Its easy to overlook the short passes when we come out with a win, but lets see how y'all like it when a guy is inaccurate and checking down most of the time when we are losing a game.

We have to push the ball down the field IMO, especially if KJ Bolden is out again like he was against Auburn.

If we don't threaten deep those LBs they have can fly and will eat our running game and quick passing game up.

In the past Buster had success against Georgia with a lot of QB runs. The designed runs haven't really been great for us this year, but this is one spot where I think having Tramell start could be a boost. But he has to keep them honest with some shots, and I think we will see a couple to Singleton at least.

I've never liked either QB. Obvious limitations. Just play the guy that gives you a chance to win this season. We're about to find out if we have a QB for next season on saturday.

Crazy huh? lol

I’ve never seen a fanbase over react to so many sub 20 yard passes n my life.
I like Jones, called for him to start over Lagway last yr, but watching ppl literally post vids of their mouth hanging open over a 8 yard run or a 15 yard out pattern whilst screaming we finally found our QB1 is wild stuff.

I want the kid to do well and will support whoever is out there.

Either Philo isn't healthy enough to go, or if he is then whoever the coaches think gives us the best chance to win will be the guy running out there on the first possession.

With Tramell it very well could be lack of experience, trouble/inexperience reading deep coverage, or he's just a little gun shy about potentially throwing a pick, but the checkdowns seem to be a trend going back to his previous games played and seemingly in camp too. The coaches kept harping on taking risks sometimes as a QB when the QB battle was going on, and I think those comments were directed at Tramell a bit. Its not a question of athletic ability at all with him. It is frustrating as hell to watch a guy who won't push the ball for whatever reason. You're down multiple possessions and he's checking down for a 4 yard gain on third and 11 or something.

Headlines should read,

"Gator fans and so called Gator fans create QB controversy ahead of matchup with Georgia."

There is no QB controversy, the coaching staff will start the QB that gives us the best chance of winning the game. PERIOD, end of story.

I agree, that shallow route throw on 3rd n 11 was very frustrating.

I back whoever but it’s the ppl trashing one to uplift the other when the others numbers dwarf the other guy is pretty weird.

TBH I wanna see Jones in on the first possession Saturday simply because running qbs give em problems and at this point there’s not a lot of tape in him to help Kirby n co prepare so that gives an advantage

That would be Trammell since we can't stop a mobile qb to save our life

How are you guys feeling about this game?

Welcome back Peter, contrary to popular belief, at least on this board, Jones is no more mobile than Philo and in my opinion is a less accurate passer. The coaches will start the QB they feel can beat the mutts. I will support that decision.

I feel great about this game, no reason that if the Gators play to their potential that they can and will win. This will be the 3rd win this season over top 10 teams.

Gators 28 - mutts 24

I feel like we can win it, but wouldn't pick us to. Its not like in the past where if you saw Bama, some recent Georgia teams, or some LSU teams on your schedule and you were dreading it because you knew what was going to happen.

If you could tell me for sure that our defense took a step forward last week and it wasn't mostly ineptitude on the part of Texas I would feel closer to tossup territory.

Interesting. To be honest, I haven't watched much of the gators this year but I thought I saw him extending drives with his legs against Texas. Philo knows the system better and what the OC wants so maybe go with him since he knows how to beat UGA's defense.

Should be a great game. At the start of the season I thought this was going to be an semi easy win but you guys look great one weekend and not so great the next. Injuries are starting to pile up for my dawgs so that makes me even less confident. The only thing that tips the scale for the dawgs in my opinion is Kirby's hate for the gators and when he dials in on a team he usually gets the win.

Jones is faster, that's a fact. More accurate? Need a bigger sample size. Stronger arm and overall better athlete? That's Jones all day. Philo's arm strength is below average at best.

Ive seen vids of Philo throwing 40-50 yard passes
That’s not below avg in any aspect.

Not saying much, but Jones is more shifty, none of the runs I saw where I was like, damn! That kid can really move.

Stronger arm

Again, not proven since the only two times he went deep, they were both under thrown
He walks out there and launches one 60 yards and I’ll change my stance.

I don't think the QB starting will affect who wins this game. Either the rest of the team gives the QB a chance or they don't. Neither of them are the types that will likely carry a team if the rest of it is falling apart. Imo whether we win or not probably comes down to the running game. If GA shuts Baugh completely down our chances are probably not good even if the defense plays an average game.
