Eating Beezers or Grilled Teriyaki sober is a complete letdown.

The Waffle House in 5 pts opened my last year there. I'm angry at myself for not thinking of it first and making so much easy cash.

That's what I meant. I knew they said they were retiring. But I couldn't sit here and act like I knew if there were any financial issues or it was just legit retirement.

But it also speaks to my point that they probably wouldn't have been so quick to shut it down during this COVID stuff as the new owners were since it's "their baby." According to the papers, the guys they sold it to were friends so I don't know.

I once saw a big fight on the street just outside the window at my table at Grilled Teriyaki one time.

Dinner and a show. Front row seat. It was awesome.

Wonder what that white sauce actually was
Would be surprised if it was just mayo and we were too fricked up to notice

I don't know how long you've been away from Columbia, but Grilled Teriyaki was renovated and looks all snazzy now on the outside. It doesn't look anything like the dive it was when I was in school.

So they got rid of the white sauce?

I must have missed that too. I've been there within the last year, before the renovations I assume, and did not have an experience that made me want to come back.

I wrote them off after that and figured they would be closing in the near future.

I mean what it looked like wasn’t what was making me go there
It was cheap hibachi food in the heart of 5 points
Was never going to start my night there or go out to dinner. That was always a lost drinking meal

I was referring to how it was a decent lunch spot if you worked downtown and wanted Japanese, but that wasn't the case anymore last time I went.

I worked for a separate Japanese restaurant in the Columbia area through school. The 3 main ingredients by far were mayo, ketchup, and sugar.

Plenty of places in Cola that have better food than yesterday’s. Never quite understood the love for that place, but do understand many people loved it so I’m sad to hear it’s gone. Also that may have been me fighting outside of GT....you’re welcome?

To be fair, Yesterdays used to be a lot better. The quality dipped in recent years.

Yesterday’s did some things really well, others not so much. I always enjoyed it. I actually ate there a couple of months ago and wish I had known that would be the last time.

Whoever moves into that space will have one helluva remodeling job. The dips and bumps in the floors almost caused many a fall for me.

NO brother, landlord will rent it out to "Welcome To Moes"! So all the yankee's whose parents can afford that tuition have a place to eat.
