been there, drank that. it's also a couple weekends into oyster season - first chance to have a little roast. that beats a trip to Athens for nooner.

what's the word behind the scenes on Jordan Davis? will he play against USC this weekend?

ATHENS — Georgia coach Kirby Smart indicated defensive tackle Jordan Davis is expected to return to practice this week and be cleared to play.

“We think Jordan will be fine, he won’t be out there early on,” Smart said Monday, indicating Davis has some rehabilitation work left to do. “But we think he’ll be fine to go, we expect him to play.”

Davis injured his left ankle on the second play of the 43-14 win at Tennessee on Saturday night.

The No. 3-ranked Bulldogs (5-0) play host to South Carolina (2-3) at noon on Saturday at Sanford Stadium.

No for me. Enjoyed my trips there in the past, but a noon kick to watch us get beat down isn't worth it.

Missing my first trip to Athens since 2001. Always had a nice time down there, especially when we won.

I don’t think Davis plays this weekend, which is a big blow to our interior D. Probably our best DL. I think it will take him a few weeks to get back on the field.

Yall know Georgia plays down to their opponents, so a couple of special teams frickups and turnovers could win this for you. And yall gonna miss it because you are feeling sorry for yourselves.

Did you see us @ Missouri? We literally gave them 14 points, and on some of the most fricked up shite I've ever seen in a football game. It's not like Missouri, in the day time, is a scary environment to play in.. we fricked.

Simmons is always good for a muffed punt inside the 10.

I'll be at home still nursing this detached retina this coming Saturday. Gave my tickets to my Son and he is taking his girlfriend .... his first ever trip over there without me so I warned him to be situationally aware.

I think he is hooking up with a fellow KA President from the UGA chapter so everything should be okay. They met in NOLA over the summer at the President's conference and evidently hit it off.

No idea how to predict this game. The pat answer seems to be that we hang close in the first half and UGA wears us down in the second half.

UGA clearly has the better, deeper, team.

If we keep it close and play with courage, energy and enthusiasm then we can build off of that. To win it over there would be a monumental upset ... perhaps our biggest in history.

I’m not, but have thoroughly enjoyed previous trips. My wife’s granddad is a huge UGA fan and I went to a good many games there from 2007-2012. He had to stop in 2013, but always had a good time there. Really nice place to watch a game. We would always come up early no matter when it started and watch the earlier games in the Tate Center.

You ruined the self-deprecating nature of this thread. Way to go.
