Is it that he’s just a freshman and the moment was too big, injury, or is this the real version of him? 14 points for Missouri came from him directly today in just horrible decisions.

He's a freshman. They were really bad mistakes, but you just hope it's the freshman in him and he will get better.

I'm 100% behind Hilinski still, but his coaching staff around him is cancer. I don't expect him to be some huge gamechanger, but don't give up on the guy for one bad game.

I view this as Muschamp really perfecting his process. It took him a while to shatter Bentley's confidence and destroy all the promise we saw in his freshman year. He's gonna leave Hilinski a stuttering wreck by the Tennessee game at this rate.

Hilinski had a throwing arm injury, he was nursing it first half, you could see it in his lack of zip....then second half he had zip, he likely got a shot of cortisone. He first one no excuse, but the second d td we should have run had 2 downs to get 3 yards. He is a stud, don't let booms stupid decisions effect your faith in this kid.

I mean I have faith in him, I think he’s honestly the best hope we have in this team. I just wanted to see everyone else’s thoughts. Personally, I think he can be a game changer for us down the line as long as he keeps confidence

this - a million times over.

Our genius staff must've missed the fact we could have gained another 4 downs just inside the 1 yd line. ~ and the fact they allow even the slightest possibility of a pass attempt should be grounds for termination. Horrid.

eta - I was mistaken. I guess officially the refs made that a 1&G at the 10. still run ball at 3&G from 3. all the time, every time.

Agreed. Yet again, the play calling was atrocious. I have lost faith in BM's ability to be consistent. I would say that Champ needs to find a proven coordinator, but we are beyond that. We need to move on from Muschamp. I hate that we will lose some of his assistants (like Warner and Brown), but this is not working...at all.

I think it's boom not BMac....he says he lets BMac loose against BAMA last week and Clemson last year...then we have games like this...it's boom not the OC

You might be on to something there. That would at least explain the wild inconsistencies.

He's going to be ruined by this coaching staff. Muschamp ruins all QBs. Just look at what Brissett and Driskel did once they left this dipshit.

Muschamp leaving Hilinski in to get destroyed by Alabama's backups was a complete disgrace. He'll have CTE by the end of this year sadly. And that's even a dark joke, it's reality.

Especially considering a FG there puts us down by a TD. Instead, they go the other way and go up 17. Just awful. That was when I paid my tab and walked out of the bar and didn't watch football for the rest of the day.

Hilinski will be a great QB if the coaches will turn him lose. The season is lost for all practical purposes, so why not try to air it out and see what we have. I am tired of the vanilla "let's not lose" mentality that has stifled this team the last few years. The kids want to have fun and this is not fun. If Muschamp can't do it...then he needs to go because he isn't willing to change a losing formula...IMO !

Muschamp's fear of losing overrules trying to win.

No joke..he is extremely conservative at moments he needs to be aggressive.

One day I'd like to see him go for it and succeed in a big situation.

Then I could commend him on having balls big enough to fill a dump truck..

But that isnt likely with his style.

What I don’t understand is that in all the big games we’re huge underdogs in, the offense comes out balls to the wall.

UGA ‘18: Bentley threw the ball 47 times, trick plays abound
Clemson ‘18: Bentley throws for a school record 510yd, career high 5TD, trick plays abound
Alabama ‘19: Hillinski goes 36-57, over 300yds against one of the best defensive teams we’ve seen in awhile, trick plays all over the place

But yet in games we have a chance to win, and should win, it’s so conservative and plodding.

I may be off here but I heard the interception at the goal line was an RPO. I also heard Muschamp say a ton of running plays were called in the first half but got checked out of because Mizzou was stacking the box.....I am told those were all RPO plays. So here’s my question, if all an OC is doing is calling RPO’s how much “coordinating” is actually happening?

I think we can chalk that up to Muschamp in games he knows he can’t win the way he wants to play (Bama, Clemson, UGA) compared to Muschamps preferred playing style.

I’m not convinced McClendon is a bad OC. I think we just have only seen him be cut loose a handful of times
