My Grandfather taught me three important lessons:
1. Never trust a man with facial hair and especially not mustaches. He learned this as a LEO during America’s rougher decades for crime. He said he’d seen men completely disabled by their mustache and that mustached men were more likely to be pervy criminals.
2. Never trust a man with a limp fish handshake. This one is self explanatory.
3. Never trust a man who’s signature you can’t read. This one I haven’t entirely unpacked yet but I’m sure there’s something deep here.
Harris Pastides has an immaculate and extremely legible signature and no mustache. Not sure about his handshake but I imagine it’s strong AF.
I like Mr. Pastides.
Godspeed former President!

This was my grandfather and generally speaking, no. Also, my dad had a mustache. He turned out to be a complete PoS so Grandpa is basically undefeated at this point.

No worries. You got any good grandpa wisdom?
My paternal grandpa was far older (born in the early 1910s) so most of his wisdom was just folksy racism but the one piece I did hold on to was never to trust an Irishman. I’ve interpreted that as a potato lover which is why I hate Clemson so gosh darn much. They just make my skin crawl and blood boil. Damn Mic...I mean Taters.

Is that a gay joke or an incest joke?
Not sure what play to make in response.

Most likely an incest joke.
One of my family members definitely married a cousin

TBH, you’re not truly high class unless your family tree is a family column.

Oh we don’t talk to that relative anymore.
She’s one of those “off the grid” type too.
Conspiracy that the government reads everything here and my second cousin out in the mountains with no phones.
Haven’t heard from them since they told us the were fricking at a graduation party in 2017
Don’t know wtf they’re up to now

That’s true tho, the government does read everything, or at least its bots do.

I don't recognize my alma mater. It's filled with Yankees, we have a Presidential search that was disrupted by a loud group of SJW's and we can't beat Clemson in anything that matters. Sorry Harris, you lost me years ago.

Or maybe the primary concern of the University of South Carolina, which is funded by South Carolina taxpayers, should be to educate citizens of the state of South Carolina, not New Jersey, Maryland or Pennsylvania kids who'll spend 4 years here and leave.

Oh you met Damn Yankees, not Yankees. Ok yea we’re on the same page then.

The semiconductor information is interesting and surprising. At least in early 90s the USC EE department was heavy into semicon research with several professors respected nation wide for materials knowledge.

As I’ve said before
Why doesn’t the state have the same laws NC has?

Grandpa sounds like a good man. I struck out on his first rule though. I’ve been bald and bearded before it was the cool thing. Figured when it started falling out of me head at 19 and I could grow it on my face, then why not. 16 years later, you see it everywhere. Mine did teach me the proper etiquette for a handshake though, firm grip, always stand, and make eye contact. I feel like people have something to hide otherwise.
As far as Pastides goes, I’m a sidewalker as my degree came from Gardner-Webb, so I really don’t have a dog in the fight. But, I do hope for the sake of the university and a potential location for my children to continue education, USC hires the right candidate for the job.
