Rumor picking up steam that Lance is leaving. The guy who told me has some pretty good connections with the staff. Anyone else hearing anything?

Interesting. Guess we will find out sooner than later. Lance would be my guess. Too much writing on the wall not to be him.

I thought that was pretty much a given after him trying to land a job with tenn last year. He is a lb coach not a dl coach. Honestly I want a new lb coach the most but word is hutzler (sp) is Muschamp's 3rd son so he won't be leaving. I say bring Lawing back!

Cockfather over at tbs saying Thompson's as good as gone. Saying it could be bo Davis or Travis Jones as the new guy.

I’m ok with it. He has been underwhelming to say the least.

Same here, how many sacks did we finish wish as a team, like 12? Jeez. I’d like a new guy to have the reins with this influx of talent we got coming in supposedly.

Reports saying it's def Lance and some whisperings about we already have our new guy but all they'll say is it isn't Lawing & that he's "younger" than Lawing.

Any ideas?

ETA: Word is Lance is headed to GT.

I've also heard that 1 more coach, besides Lance, will be moving on.

No idea who the 2nd coach is? Defense? Offense? ST?

Ppl are throwing all kinds of hints out but won't say a name and in the fever addled state of mind I can't connect two dots to save my life. I'm hearing younger than Lawing, NFL credentials with ties to the program. I'm sure the answer is right in front of me but I can't figure it out. frick meningitis.

It is right in front of you... because I named the candidates above lol. Also i heard that "at least one coach is getting replaced"

That is obviously Thompson, Idk if the other is a for sure thing

Edit: won't make you dig. The candidates,as I understand it, are:

Travis Jones: DL coach with Saban and muschamp at LSU and then again at the dolphins. Currently assistant DL coach for the falcons.

Bo Davis: was Sabans DL coach at bama before getting fired for a recruiting violation, worked at UTSA for a year and was able to get Marcus Davenport on nfl radars and is now the DL coach for the lions

Read up on both guys, and I’d take either. Bo Davis has some shadiness to him, which we need.

I didn't do a TON of research but from what I gather on Davis, his biggest mistake wasnt the violation, it was lying about it to the regulators during the investigation.

I tend to lean towards Saban guys, which both are, but Davis more recently. Might have more connections from a recruiting standpoint.

I'm personally big on getting recruits in the door as much as development, LT could do either for shite. Because of that Davis gets my vote because Jones hasn't been a college coach since Saban win that title at lsu and thus wouldn't have the relationships that Davis would.

Hard to argue with that. Time to start playing the game.

A friend of mine said that when the team arrived back in Columbia after the bowl game that Lance T didn't stick around for the team meeting. He got in his car and hit the road.
