So are you insinuating that millennial's are all bottoms?

Asking for a boomer friend.

All of you in this thread should listen to “Fade In with Erik Kimrey” podcast.

Erik started the podcast this season. The podcasts are Erik and 3 former Gamecock football players or coaches and sometimes reporter Bob Gillespie. The podcasts are great for any Gamecock football fan.

Episodes 4, 6 and 12 include Brad Lawing as guest. Brad is fantastic on the podcasts with his stories of recruiting and coaching. Brad raves about Muschamp. Thinks Muschamp is Saban 2.0 (Brad has worked for both).

Brad did not play at USC but says in the podcast “I’m a Gamecock”. He loves USC.

Any of you in here reposting rumors for which you know nothing about are doing Brad and yourself a disservice.

Isn't that what message boards do? Very few have the real facts and the ones that do probably are not on message boards. Fact is Lawing left here years ago. He was, no doubt, a very good coach. The reason he left is what people speculate about. I doubt very few here have a personal beef with Brad. One thing that I am very confident about is no current nor future coach will be hired or fired based on what "rumor mongers" post on a message board. At least "that what I'm hearing from my sources". I do love Erik's podcasts. They are very very good.

Probably includes me. Just repeating some of the gossip posted in the past. And no, I have no clue as to the real truth but few do.

No it wasn't directed at you ... it was at someone else.

Listen, many of us know exactly what happened because we've heard it straight from Brad's mouth. It had to do with an ex girlfriend and a wife. It's that plain and simple. Women can be terribly vengeful and sometimes you just gotta put distance between them and your family and you.

And someone earlier in this thread said Brad has caused descent among all of these staffs ... which again is absolute bullshite.

He was great here his first go-round and well respected. The problem definitely was not with him but with two other members of that staff and it's well documented.

Then he left to work with Saban at Michigan State if I remember correctly ... was so good there that Mark got him a big salary bump to keep him on after Saban left for LSU.

Then he was at UNC for one season I think just because he wanted to get closer to home. I forget who he worked for there, I think it was Butch Davis but it may have been Mack ... I just can't remember but they tried hard to keep him.

He left UNC and came back to us and was great. Great recruiter, great coach, great to be around.

Then and problem started up, one that had been lingering in his personal life, a past relationship that was affecting his family and his finances. Boom offered him the job at UF (and we all know how picky mUSChamp is about his hires) and he left to go there because or some state laws that we're advantageous to his position.

Boom gets fired and he's quickly picked up by Jumbo ... another Saban deciple that makes savvy hires. Not a single problem on that staff either.

Taggert decides not to retain him, which he is regretting now, and Brad sees a chance to move back here (because some things have cooled down in his life) and maybe get back in because Lance Romance, being the mercenary that he is, was shopping Tennessee heavily during the off-season when his buddy Pruitt got hired up there.

What happens next is yet to be seen but some of the things being spread about Brad are just so far off it boggles my mind at times.

I guess we're suffering from some sort of Cocky Talk or FGF infection around here. Suddenly, after all of these years, we're seeing downvotes within our own forum, bullshite stirred-up and Cocky Talk/FGF type infighting happening. And all I ever do is upvote fellow Gamecock fans on the main board and this board ... until recently because suddenly we are seeing some serious bullshite on this board. He'll, I even started downvoting some of the bullshite and I thought to myself, damn, when did this start happening around here where I am actually downvoting a so-called fellow Gamecock fan.

Brad deserves defending though. It's just not right, these rumors. And unless he has looked some of us in the face and lied about why he left, there is some unnecessary belittling of him going on here. He's never struck me as the type. He's got a great rep.

And IBG, I read somewhere a couple of nights ago, you asking about the Dunlap/Strong timeline maybe? Anyways, I think it was you but anyways ... yeah, Strong recruited the low country and defensive linemen. He was recruiting another kid from down there and met Dunlap and his mother when Dunlap was either in the 7th or 8th grade and he started recruiting him then.

Someone else tried to say Brad was drunk or something and that's why we missed on Dunlap? I had to lol at that one. Brad's been known to drink with the best of us but he was not the coach who was a no show the night a player's mom made dinner ... I'm pretty sure that was Vonnie Holiday and his mother but I'll double check that and it was definitely not Brad who was supposed to be there ... it was another coach who's name I'll not mention because there is no sense in beating a dead horse but that guy had issues.

How Brad is getting blamed for all of this made up stuff is just beyond my comprehension. The guy is a hard worker, loved by his players, he's a straight shooter and helluva recruiter and he can coach.

If he somehow ends up at UNC we'll eventually regret it, maybe not on the field but definitely in recruiting that state for DLinemen.

Something else someone asked somewhere ... it'll come to me sooner or later. My memory ... dammit. I think it was important too but I just can't remember what it was.

Oh wait, now I remember - yeah, it was about UNC.

No doubt, as someone mentioned earlier, us older fans despise UNC. In the 60s they went full bore trying to ruin us when we hired Frank McGuire. Some of us actually would pull for Clemson over UNC ... think about that. They are the crookedest, most corrupt, most hypocritical fans and program on this planet. Total asshats. They are the real reason we left the ACC ... because like Texas does the B12, UNC does the ACC. Same thing. frick UNC with a razor dildo.

So he talks on the radio and says he is a Gamecock so that washes away all his sins huh? Do yall really think that the HBC got involved to get him a job at florida so he could get out of Columbia fast because he just liked the sunshine state? There are some gullible fans out there.

Rooster - Brad said on Kimrey’s podcast he didn’t follow Saban to LSU because he made a family decision for his kids to finish HS in Michigan. Then, he took the UNC job because his father had gotten ill and it moved him closer to his father.

It seems the only time Brad hasn’t been retained by a HC is when Taggert took over at FSU. So that’s why Brad is currently unemployed and living in Lexington, SC.

If we’re looking for a proven DL coach, a guy who wants to be at SC and nowhere else, and a guy who has recruited and coached at least 6 first round draft choices, then there is no other choice but Brad.

Do any of you need a reposting of how good our defensive recruiting and defense was while Brad was here and how bad it got after he left?

In my opinion, Brad leaving was the beginning of Spurrier’s decline. Look how much Jadeveon’s production dropped off - and the idiocy of letting Clowney freelance on technique and which side he lined up on.

Hope Boom takes him on. He is just what we need to coach the d-line. There is a place for an old school guy who brings discipline and toughness.

Again, that was me. Don't mind taking the heat for my posts. Do not know Brad nor do I wish him any harm. The people that make the decision on whether or not to offer him, or any other coach, will be aware of what occurred. I am new here and do not wish to cause an uproar. I enjoy the back and forth with Gamecock fans and have positively no inside sources. Just my opinions or speculations which can sometimes be very ignorant.

If Lance goes I'm all for bringing Brad back. As long as we can get a pass rush I could care less who he sleeps with.

Any chance Hutzler gets let go, Thompson switches to LBs, and Lawing comes back to the DL? That would be ideal, at least to me.

Always wondered about Hutzler too. Decent special teams coach but the LB’s are lacking.

A lot of fans are saying that but Hutzler is one of Boom's proteges and he's loyal to the bone.

I agree though. LBs could be better and, were it not for Deebo and Charlton he wouldn't look like such a great ST coach.

So why do you bring up COCKYTALK and talk down about it but have admitted that you haven't been on there? Maybe you should join it to see for yourself how it is before making disparaging remarks based off of others comments? There are benefits to both forums and you talk more football and recruiting on COCKYTALK. I've never said your name on there but have posted some of your info AND given you credit as a respected poster who is in the know. I posted the rumor about Lance maybe leaving and Brad coming back and got laughed off the page so a little back up would be nice.

You can't take all the blame because I said it also. My info came directly from a staff member so I kinda believe him over posters.

After reading alot of this, I'm coming around on the whole Lawing idea. We are about to have some significant talent on the dline so tbh I dont really care about offfield stuff. I'm sure Muschamp knows anything he needs to know and will hire accordingly.

I want to win, Lawing is better than Thompson IMO, im sold. Bring him on.
