Fortunately or unfortunately, you are correct.

Hopefully, and thankfully, this weekend will put a end to the " Monte HC" talk.

It's over thank God. We should forfeit playing in the SEC tournament and use that money for football nil

or getting Schnall as well as assets for him to win asap.

Word is Schnall is a done deal. Im not so sure about the hire. He has won with another coaches roster like Holbrook. He has never showed that he can build a program.

The one advantage is in todays world you can bring that roster right on with you. I do agree that is concerning but he is a hot name and will have a hot budget

I do like what Lee emphasized about the team Psych in our dugout -
I have long contended Doc's hand in all of Ray's success has never gotten the recognition it deserved - he was one of a kind - if you ever met or spoke with him you knew how unique and special he was - RIP Doc - the position he held can be returned but they'll never be another Doc -
quote:
South Carolina has, for whatever reason, not fielded a Team Psychologist since the late Dr. Ron Kasper was last in the dugout under Chad Holbrook.
That would also change immediately, according to Lee.
“Ask anyone who was a part of Gamecock Baseball during those years. Ask them about Doc Kasper. Talk to Coach Tanner about how much he meant. Hell, ask Chad (Holbrook). Dr. Kasper may have been the most important member of that staff,” Lee said.
“Look, every day just is not going to be a good day. Teams, players, coaches, we all have a day or a week. He took so much of that off of us. He was very important to me. Look at the outfield wall and look at all of those postseason years. Doc Kasper was a major part of that.”
Kasper passed away in 2021.
Lee vows to return a sports mental performance coach to Gamecock Baseball. The position would handle the sports side of psychology, but Lee wants to make sure the life side is just as important.
“We have kids who don’t see their families for months. They have class issues, relationship issues, whatever personal stuff they are going through. Then they come out here and are expected to perform at a high level. Now, with NIL and money involved, it is even more demanding.
“The SEC is won between the ears. I saw how Doc Kasper gave our championship teams ‘mental armor,’ and we’re bringing that psychological edge back. In an era of social media and outside pressure, our players need to be bulletproof. We’re going to provide the tools to ensure that when the lights are brightest, our kids are the ones who are most at home.”
The mental performance coach will be in the dugout during the games and available to meet with players and staff weekly or daily if needed. Lee also pointed out there is a Mental Sports Performance Staff available at South Carolina that “we would absolutely utilize in this program under my leadership.”
Additionally, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes would return to Gamecock Baseball. This was a part of the program for years under Tanner, Holbrook, and Kingston. Paul Mainieri did not utilize FCA during his tenure.
“It is another tool that players have at their disposal if they choose to use it. I would make it permanent,” Lee stated. “I personally have seen the benefits of FCA. It has always been a positive influence on our players and our program. Guys have expressed they want it back. So, I’d do that too.”

We had a top 5 SEC budget this year. CCU record this year is not as good as last year. The guy has 2 yrs of being a HC. Holbrook had us in a SR in his 1st 2yrs. I personally want the Kansas coach. He has proven himself to build programs.

How about Lee return a semblance of a offense first

I am very ready to move on from Lee. I was impressed with him as the hitting coach prior to Paul keeping him. It felt like we were held hostage by players/recruits into keeping him. None of those guys stuck around after he was retained.

The scary thing is had Lee gone .500 as interim coach we would most likely have made him as official HC. The silver lining in ending the season on a 12 game losing streak is now we will have a new staff.

oh trust me I get it.
As far as the search goes. Id' certainly be okay with Fitzgerald from Kansas, and Ramsey from GT. I think of those two id rather have Ramsey.
As long as it isn't Interdonato from BC. thats the only name ive seen that I don't like

Again Ramsey has only been a HC for 2yrs but he did help recruit that team. South Carolina baseball used to walk into the state of Georgia and hand pick the recruits we wanted. Once Georgia and Tech stepped up their state recruiting our team started going downhill. Ramsey could open the door back in that state for sure.

I am always a little nervous picking up out of region coaches just for that reason....plus that would probably keep Monte around

Schnall doesn't really recruit SC or Georgia kids. The players are backing Lee big time. I keep hearing them say they really liked him. When Tanner was coach players used to say they really respected him...big difference

media outlets are going to bat for Lee like they did last time, and like they did for Holbrook years ago. Last time I think it did influence things but it shouldn't this time.

We have a AD now that ,hopefully, won't listen to that outside noise. Our program needs a complete new group of Coaches.

Monte Lee and the rest of the staff have been officially fired and told they would not be coming back to the program.
