I know how you feel. I wish I'd been so much earlier than at 26 years of age. Many problems and issues would have been avoided. However, it is a work of the Holy Spirit and on God's timing. One day we will both tell Him, "It was perfect. I would not change a thing."

Ok. I'll try to explain this one more time since it appears you're being willfully ignorant. Or I guess you could just be stupid after all.

quote:

What added fat?

You can see the added fat around his midsection. This photo was taken this week.

quote:

Circle this deleterious amount of fat in the last 2 photos.

The last 2 photos are from March. Get with the fricking times, kid.

quote:

Are you blind?

Apparently you are. But, most fat people are when it comes to recognizing weight gain. You should probably work out more, or at least go on a diet. You'll see things much more clearly.

quote:

In this thread, you invented a narrative (gaining 33 pounds in 6 months) and railed against it, despite the fact that it has been proven that he didn't weigh 261 six months ago.

Again, whether it be 6, 8 or 12 months adding 33 pounds over that short period of time is going to affect his explosiveness.

quote:

He definitely weighed 284 in February

And he looked much better than he does now.

quote:

weighed 261 when he was 16 or 17 years old.

You keep saying this without any ACTUAL evidence that it's true. He weighed in at 263 in January at the Under Armour All-American Game. So, you know, 8 months ago.

quote:

In short, the weight gain thing you've been yammering on about was never reality and it's been demonstrably proven.

Proven by who? You can't even post pictures from the correct month, let alone prove anything.

quote:

Additionally, it's perfectly reasonable for a growing adolescent his size to put on quite a bit of mass at this juncture in his life, especially with excellent nutrition, supplements, and lifting, and there's nothing negative about it.

That's something a fat person would say. I feel sorry for you.

quote:

You just refuse to admit that you were way off base

I'm not. And judging by the amount of upvotes my posts have gotten in this thread compared to yours, no one else agrees with you either.

quote:

There's no reason for any Bama fan to be concerned about Egboigbe's weight,

Well sure there is. We have a head coach and three former All-Americans quoted as saying the staff put too much weight on on our defensive players and they needed to lose weight to get their explosiveness back. You conveniently chose to ignore that though.

quote:

Continue being mad at me if you want

You think I'm mad at you? I feel sorry for you.

quote:

You are wrong and it's obvious.

Based on what? You're fat person opinion?

quote:

You just are mad at me right now.

Nope.

quote:

Watch our practice videos and Egboigbe looks explosive, and many are reporting how impressive he looks and is performing at this time.

You mean the 2-3 second clips we get of the D-Linemen hitting a dummy? Get back to me when he's having to chase down an actual living human being.

quote:

Thanks for derailing George's thread.

You're welcome. Facts need to be put out there to combat idiotic posts like the one you made.

quote:

Egboigbe looks like a monster fixing to eat.

Oh he's been eating alright. But again, you would know all about that.

Take care.

Take care, Saint. I've really lost a lot of respect for you. I thought you had more class than this and were a poster of substance. You're just petty.

I was wrong about you, but good luck to you.

FYI, the last photo was from practice on August 5th (Tuscaloosa News), not March as you claimed. It completely destroys your narrative, but don't let reality stand in your way. You haven't yet, and I'm sure you won't start now.

Also, I won't be replying to you further in this thread. You've stooped to an embarrassing level, and I won't follow you there.

Showing me someone's arms fully extended does absolutely nothing to my narrative. The fact you are holding onto it for dear life speaks volumes about your position though.

Cool.

I'll reply just this one time. You've enjoyed calling me fat, despite me not being fat at all. I also lift several times a week and am in great shape.

How did you get this so wrong? Well, you either can't read or don't understand the English language. This was what I said:

quote:

Sure, I had probably 5 pounds of bad weight around my stomach, but I had had that since the 3rd grade

The verb tense "had had" is past perfect, denoting the the past of the past. This means that the time of having 5 extra pounds of fat around my stomach extended from 3rd grade until the first part of the sentence - senior year of football. If the fat had continued until now, I would have written, "...but I HAVE HAD that since the 3rd grade," which would have denoted a time of past + present.

But you got this wrong, just like you got everything else wrong. Not only have you revealed yourself to be a jackass, you've also revealed yourself to be stupid as well.

Take it easy, Saint. I've really enjoyed watching you embarrass yourself in this thread.

Edited to bold "had had", just in case Saint is stupid enough to miss it twice.

Good for you. I'm glad you were able to lose the weight. For our sake, I hope Eboigbe does as well.

I don't think I'm the stupid one in this conversation. In fact, I know I'm not. But hey, keep thinking your opinion actually means something. Someone might believe it one day.

You are a cry baby, huh?

Grow up, son. It's just a message board.

I look forward to you NOT responding to this post.

NOT is bolded in case prevatt doesn't realize he's a fricking idiot this time. Lord knows he missed the first 20 times it was pointed out.

He wasn't the one who used Clemson's veteran defensive line weight as an explanation for why it makes sense an incoming freshman is +30 pounds over his high school playing weight.

Not trying to get into any offensive argument here, but talking football, I really don't get why a fan would criticize a growing boy who put on 30 pounds from one year to the next. And that's a big part of it for me. He was still growing. In that first pic from HS, he was likely several months from turning 18 years old. He may have not have even been 17.5. I just think (and know) it's perfectly reasonable for a player to do that in a year, as I gave seen it many, many times. And most of my education is science and medicine. I'm speaking about a subject I have extensive education in.

There's a thread on reddit CFB where a young LSU player 'put on' 30 pounds in a year 'carrying bricks in his backpack all year'. It's a funny story, but it illustrates my point - this is common when kids are young. I just think that amount of weight gain is common and not out of the ordinary, particularly for young players who are literally still growing.

Relaying a story, I was good enough to be invited to some recruiting trips to FSU in HS (although I wasn't really on their radar seriously. My head coach played there), and I got to watch FSU's players go through pre-game drills from field level. I saw Byron Cowart as a freshman and as a Sophomore from sbout 30 feet away, and he had put on 40 pounds if he had put on one - and he was awesome and incredibly agile and explosive. And so, I don't like that mine and Saint's argument turned sour like it did, but the notion that a growing dlineman putting on 30 pounds from one year to the next is bad is just crazy. It's literally super, super common, especially if the kid is still growing.

I just think many here wanted Egboigbe to be a thinly built edge rusher, and I just think it's clear that that's not his body type.

Additionally, for the record, I was arguing against the statements that Bama's S&C program did this to him, when Charlie Potter's article from Feb 2019, which reported the measurables from the early enrolees, stated Egboigbe's weight to be 284.

Even if one is arguing that that weight increase is bad, Egboigbe obviously put on all but 10 pounds of it before he set foot on campus. The kid was simply still growing. Simple as that.

Also, if you read the thread closely, you'll see that I was arguing against the statements of a few people. I referenced Clemson oline to argue against several a few posters who claimed that our Dlineman needed to be about 275, and other posters who were blaming our injuries on too much weight. (Honestly, it was only Buggs anyway. )

I used Clemson's oline to show that we very much want our interior linemen to be 290+ and that folks that size can certainly stay healthy.

And to be clear, I totally understand Saint's argument that the weight was bad or put on badly, but I think the preponderance of evidence shows that he was simply still growing, and that most of the growth (added mass) happened before setting foot on campus and therefore shouldn't be blamed on the staff.

Again, I'm not trying to get into another argument, only explaining why I said what I said.

Roll Tide.

Sorry, I'm posting from my phone, and so it sort of has to be broken up.

The other important part of the conversation would be to say that to anyone who wants Egboigbe significantly under 294 pounds, then you are definitely saying one of two things: either you only want him to play 5-technique End, or you don't want him to contribute in 2019. The reason I say that is that any weight that is appreciably under 294 immediately precludes him from playing 3-technique tackle or 1-technique nose. And so, if the staff really wants Egboigbe to contribute this season, then it would make sense for him to be a weight that would allow him to play both End spots as well as the Nose if need be. Egboigbe at 275 almost certainly relegates him to the scout team in 2019. Even if he's less than maximally explosive at 294 (which I'm not necessarily agreeing with), at least he can contribute at multiple positions.

I specifically said I wouldn't reply to Saint again, and I only broke that oath once - and had a very good reason to do so.

Also, you're a joke of an alter of a loser, and a known pot stirrer who brings with him only Cons, no Pros. I'm going to get back to ignoring you now.

I am not singling you out river but I think it's time to stop the petty arguing between ourselves. We are all crimson brothers here and we have found ourselves arguing over what a young man weighs. All of you are intelligent men and die hard Bama fans so let's save the bickering for something important like whether Waddle should start over Jeudy.
