Don't know if anyone has mentioned it, but Tennessee hired Willie to coach DBs.

He was an excellent db coach, just a subpar dc. Sounds like a decent hire for them.

Willie’s been up and down like a yo-yo. I think he reached his level of incompetency as a DC, but it a serviceable position coach. He’s in for a rough ride at Tennessee.

Nobody gonna mention this being his second stint at UT? Seems like they might ought to know better.

DBs did well at UGA under Willie.

But there were still fan complaints about him at that time. DBs would declare early because they felt the techniques taught were not going to help improve their nfl careers.

That was a long time ago. Im sure he "could" be better and wiser.

I just remember people complaining about him playing guys with seniority over more talented younger players.

RichRod really exposed Willie's warts as a DC.

Willies best years were with BVG at DC.

The only clear memory of WMs defenses were opposing teams completing passes and we didn’t even have a player on the screen.

Just like my memory of Grantham is great pass rush, confused players and 3rd and Grantham.

This is correct.

“Subpar” is very charitable. He sucked hind end.

Always infuriated me to see the offense over the ball and half our defense looking to the sideline with their palms up.

Willie didn't need help. He accomplished it all on his own.
