not necessarily age although age will be up there as well. I’m talking about when they were in a national title team.

The oldest that comes to mind is Tom Brady (1997 Michigan).

Who are some others that are still active?

Andrew Whitworth. Started on LSU’s 2003 team.
39 years old.

I’ve never heard of Andrew Whitworth, believe it or not. Then again, maybe I should have for obvious reasons. At least I don’t remember from the 2003 NC game.

The obvious answer is Tom Brady. He was a sophomore second string QB behind Brian Griese on that 1997 Michigan national championship team.

brady is 43 and still playing at a high level. Could it be that he hangs around to beat George Blanda's record? Since Blanda was also a kicker and primarily a kicker his last 5 years he held on to age 48. Brady would have to do it as a QB.

Wild stat that TB12 played in college with a guy who played 11 seasons in the NFL then retired, and has also retired from an 11 year broadcasting career.

frick Miami but crazy how he turned out the best. McGahee and Portis were explosive and had solid careers but Gore lasted this long.
