Id be interested to see thoughts, given the JC and GTs who we think will rise to the top.

Scary thought with no spring practice we have to find four new starters on OL with GT, 2 JC, two converted DL, and a mix of others with little experience.

I’m guessing Hamm is a starter along with Brahms.

The grad transfer will likely start, the healthy JUCO.

That leaves one spot for maybe Alex Jackson Or Sammons depending on whether Hamm is a guard or a tackle.

Seems like guard has a lot of competition.

Manning, Irvin, Stutts, and so on.

I thought Hamm would slide back inside but I seen somewhere, might’ve been on here, that someone said they seen him in person and he was working on pass pro so maybe he stays at RT. I expect Troxell and both Juco OTs to be ready to compete when camp finally starts. Zierer should be healed enough to compete.

Troxell,K.Jones,Brahms,Council,Hamm

Zierer,Irvin,Brahms,Hamm,Council

Those are my top two projections but with all the guards competing you could make 3/4 lineups plus both Hamm and Council both can play OT or OG as well as Osborne

I'm going with

LG Jones
C braham
RG Council or Manning
RT Hamm

Yea sounds about right. I think Troxell has All Sec potential when he’s healthy. The juco’s will be solid depth at the least. Both could potentially start then again the could be backup LT/RT. We have options though hopefully they get in rhythm.

DL I think will be very deep, probably a 8-10 man rotation instead of the usual 6-8. A lot of the are capable of moving around so it’s hard for me to try to pinpoint 4 out. I know BigKat and Truesdell are starters but does BigKat start at BUCK or SDE? If he’s at the rush spot I can see TD, Handy, or Butler the top juco to compete for the SDE spot. I think those 2 jucos will impact a lot more than we expect. Both of them are very violent and can also get low and get pad leverage. Banks film is impressive to me for a DT, he excelled in run stopping and pass rushing and created turnovers. Butler dominated some of the top juco OTs when he was at independence CC. I could see Bulter starting at DE and BigKat,Hall,TD handle the rush spot. Banks Miller Hardy and Hall are the next players called up depending on which off the starters may be tired or something.

BigKat, Newkirk/Miller,Truesdell, Butler/TD

Hall/TD,Butler/Miller/Banks, Truesdell, BigKat/Handy

Plus there’s plenty more capable of doing something next season. Colby Wooden, Z.Walker(who could also potentially start I just feel the other guys have a tiny bit of a step on him atm but he’s definitely quality depth.

If Trox is good to go he can play RT and let Hamm move inside

Coffey and Zierer at LT

I wonder if Council can play Center

You have to think his move to DL is almost certain.

He will get his shot on offense. Gus is clearly excited about his potential on offense.

If he could be a road grader at HB like Eric Smith or Jay Prosche, that’d be a major weapon for the offense.

I just noticed that as well. Wowsir.

and Coffey at 264 and Zerier at 284, as tall as they are thats awfully slim for a OT.

Careful, I suggested this when we were recruiting him and got lambasted.

With the extreme shortage of HB/TEs currently on the roster, I doubt they could spare moving him to the DL.

I think Brahms will do well. His issue was being thrown into the starting lineup as soon as his injury healed. The bone may have been healed but his legs were obviously atrophied from not getting any exercise and it showed when they put him on the field. Towards the end of the season when he was getting back his leg strength he looked far better.

I too think the two JC transfers for the DL where huge. On the interior, behind Truesdell we have about 5 tackles between Newkirk and Miller. Newkirk poor guy, has been injured, but I dont know what Miller's issue is. He has been here two years now and little to show for it.

To be fair our Dline was stacked and I imagine them bois didn't like coming out of the game much.

Coynis maybe like a bama dline player...sit behind everyone else until junior year, play 1 year and go pro

Zerier replies to someone on Twitter and said he’s pushing 300lbs and Coffeys weight is from the beginning of last football season lmao I’m sure he’s bigger now he was always a pretty built guy tho some tackles can play at around 285-300lbs and be successful. He’s naturally strong I’m sure he’ll be fine once they start hitting the weights. Also heard Z.Walkers coach says he’s probably the strongest kid he’s ever seen

Thanks JJ, I was going off the Auburn site for weights, must be dated.

I keep hearing "physically" Z is a man child and college ready long ago, thats good news as well.

He's looked pretty good when he has been in there. I think he and Newkirk break out this year
