Y’all are crazy if you think Leach gets canned over that tweet.

It’s not even racist. It’s manufactured controversy

Leach. Ole Miss will stick with Lane even if he underperforms barring some huge scandal, and even then they will try to avoid firing him.

As a MSU fan, I hope Leach does well but I can’t help but feeling like our fanbase will sour on him fairly quickly. I also am starting to question whether he was the solution to our current problem, which was an undisciplined culture - something that has been extremely toxic for other programs. Maybe we should have just asked Croom if he’d come back.

There behavior is pretty normal in Mississippi so that won't get them fired at all. The one that loses two Eggbowls in a row and have two mediocre seasons will get the boot. I think Lane Kiffin has a better chance at recruiting & running a SEC style offense than Leach does.

Very hard to say. I think it’s much easier to predict how Leach will do at state, we have examples of him being in very similar situations (being at one of the non traditional powers in a P5 conference). Freshwater is way more of a boom or bust. So I would bet Kiffin but also think Kiffin is more likely to be very successful
.
[/quote]Well, until the scandal, I'd have said Leach was safe as long as he wants. Probably gonna put up crazy numbers, win 7-8 games a year.

I don't know why anyone would say

People have been saying that for a decade now. Everyone talks him up before he lands a gig.

Look what he's done- Raiders, Tennessee, USC. Went in spawning high hopes; at each place, by the time he was gone, the people over him hated his fricking guts.

Saban tried to rehabilitate him, but that's kinda a fail too- he couldn't get along there either, and I think Saban probably hates him too.

The biggest thing seems to be that you just can't rely on him, and the longer he's in one place the more you realize what a frickup he is. He makes Bobby Petrino look like a professional.

Kiffin will get Ole Miss going in the right direction.. couple 7-8 win seasons, and he bolts for a better job at an Arizona, South Carolina, Oregon State type

Neither of them are endearing themselves to their respective teams and fanbases by staying in Florida. Even before the shutdown started, they weren't very visable in the state.

Look, I love Starkville. It gets an unfairly bad reputation. If I had a house in fricking Key West, I would be in fricking Key West right now.

Also, elaborate on "SEC style offense". Was LSU an SEC style offense last year?

The only school that 1. Kiffin would leave the SEC for and 2. could conceivably hire Kiffin in the next 3 years is Texas.

Other than that, he's hoping for significant success @ OM and calling Saban's doctor every week.

Neither will ever be fired.

Kiffin and Leach are perfect for both schools.

Leach runs an unconventional system that can take down anyone. He can win with mediocre players at places that are considered some of the hardest P5 jobs in the country.

Kiffin can recruit at the level necessary for ole miss to compete (orgeron and freeze). He will be able to cherry pick Mississippi for the best recruits while being able to pull in national recruits. He’s an exceptional play caller that showed Nick Saban how to run a 21st century offense.

Leach will stay until he wants to retire.

Kiffin will leave in 3 years after Plumlee and Ealy graduate.

Leach ain't gonna make it....he is as ill equipped to maneuver the SEC and Mississippi as Jim Donnan was at UGA....he's gonna get run and run quick....Kifflin will probably take a job somewhere else in a few years...after what he did to the Vols (couldn't have happened to a better program but dam) he shouldn't ever be given another HC in the SEC....

Why would he leave Ole Miss? If he have any success at Ole Miss then he will continue to build on that success. If you are talking about failing to recruits players that can get Ole Miss to the next level. That might be true. But who will Ole Miss get if Kiffin leave? That might hurt even more if he does not want stay there after 2 or 3 years.

They don't run out of upcoming coaches. If OM has to hire again soon then Kiffin will have done a good job and someone will want to take the job instead of a rebuild.

Lotta low hanging fruit/shiny hooks in this thread. Y'all baws need to try harder.

but no defense wont work.

Mississippi State has not had problems fielding a defense in years. Both the later Mullen teams and the JoMo (who was an OC) teams had very good defenses.

Mississippi State's biggest flaw post-Dak has been the offense.

Both were gimmick splash hires designed to mask the stenches of their predecessors' failures, both morally and professionally, as well as the missteps of those who hired them.

Kiffin will leave first though. He either bolts in the night for the next greener pasture or has some extracurricular scandal. Neither one are going to be winning a lot of games.

Also Kiffin will have the added pressure of having to sign Arch Manning in two years. If he fails to do that, he'll be gone for sure.

I say if coach O failed at Ole Miss and warned Kiffin to avoid the Ole Miss head coach job.
