Georgia has added former Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator Todd Monken to the same position on its coaching staff, sources confirmed to ESPN on Friday.
From Mark Schlabachs column on ESPN. Probably legit since he broke the news that we were interested in him a few days ago.

That’s huge. Mark is saying Monken is OC and play caller and Coley will have another role. I really thought they’d make him Co OC and save Coley’s ego but Kirby straight up demoted him.

He's invested. Georgia matters to HIM. We have the right guy. He may not always make the right or perfect choice, but he's damn sure going to try.

If Monken comes in here and turns UGA's offense into a point scoring machine, he likely won't last long as our OC. Like Joe Brady, will probably get hired away for some college HC job or another NFL OC job within a year or two.
If Coley just hangs tight and learns from Monken while he's here, he could quite seamlessly step right back into the OC role after a year or two.
I mean, he has to know he's inexperienced and didn't do a very good job last year, and probably still has plenty to learn.
Let him be the QB coach and assistant game coordinator and learn how to run an Air Coryell system for a bit while we still take advantage of his recruiting prowess.

Says in one of the DN articles he had interviewed for HC jobs with the Jets and Packers. Maybe that’s why it took so long for the hire.

Very happy right now. Not just glad something was done but I think this is a great move and not just some bandaid.

I don't think you'll see Coley back in the OC role at UGA. More likely Coley departs after this year and becomes an OC on another team which is fine by me. He's a great recruiter but he needs to cut his teeth on a lesser program if he's going to be an OC.

My guess is that Kirby isn't letting Coley just walk until either Vandagriff/Williams are enrolled. Coley is their lead recruiter

Coach Ensminger coached here for a few years in the early 90s... bounced around from D1 to D3 to high school teams. Think he was fired 3 times at least. Got another OC opportunity only because he was promoted after Miles was fired. This year, they bring in a hotshot to inject some NFL DNA into the offense and then Ensminger calls the season of his life. One of the most impressive offenses of all time in the NCAA. The dude is 61 and I assure you in his 30 years of coaching, no one would have thought he would have called a season like this one.
I do not know much about Coley other than he is a shite hot recruiter. Given that and Smart’s apparent affinity for him, there is no reason why he could not learn some new tricks from a guy who has done it.... that we know wont be around long. Would be good from a recruiting and staff continuity standpoint. This year’s LSU offense shows you what can happen when an old coach can do with the confluence of special talents and skilled assistants.

The reason LSU worked so well was because Ensminger had no ego when it came to calling plays. He has openly said that Brady did better in certain packages (bunch and empty IIRC), so Brady called those plays.
I don't know Monken well enough to say if he has no ego like Ensminger.

Foley’s family is happy year and he is being paid handsomely regardless of his duties because of his recruiting prowess. He will be co-OC and ST coach or recruiting coordinator or some other fluff title.

Coley is NEVER getting another chance to screw up another season for us as playcaller. So just stop that shite.
