Hate being the guy who posts a thread that’s a question but doing it anyway. Seeing on Twitter this AM that we should know soon about our next coach. Rivals tweeted something like 15 min ago.

Sounds like a lot of smoke around Monken but no confirmation yet of a full blown fire

I saw Drew Butler tweet some shite saying he couldn’t see a guy with 2 nfl stints coming to be an analyst with Radi implying he’d have more responsibility than that so I figured it was Monken.

Adam Rittenberg is reporting he will be Offensive Coordinator. Not sure if it will be a shared role with Coley

2 former HCs now on the offensive staff. Very happy we didn’t go with a lazy hire and even went well our of our way to find someone who is outside Kirby/Saban to bring a fresh perspective. I don’t know a great deal about Monken outside of what I’ve seen from fan comments and it seems to be positive. I’m just happy Kirby made an effort to truly take advantage of the staff opening and revamp this offense.
The narrative being spun by cynical Georgia fans and rivals was “Kirby is too stubborn to change his offense” and I think this spits in that takes face whether it works or not. Georgia has brought in a grad transfer who does not fit the typical UGA mold, uga is actively recruiting more mobile QBs, and now they’re bringing an outsider who’s expertise is focused on passing. Just like when Richt was fired, I’m happy that Georgia is making the changes and taking the risks to be elite. This may not work but I’ll take failure over years of accepting mediocrity.

If Monken takes over OC and play calling and Coley stays and moves to a position/co-OC role, I don’t care how bad of an OC Coley was, he is a DGD in my book.

He's invested. Georgia matters to HIM.
We have the right guy. He may not always make the right or perfect choice, but he's damn sure going to try.
