Even if Mac Jones comes out and lights it up against Auburn, the committee will not put a Tua-less Alabama into the playoff over a 1-loss Oregon, Utah, or Oklahoma.

They did put in a Ohio State one loss team in the playoffs with a 3rd string QB.
We surely remember that don’t we?

Which would be a terrible mistake. Our front seven is a shell of its former self and our best player is done for the season. We would be flat out embarrassed by whoever we play in the playoffs.

If Alabama crushes a Top 15 Auburn team to the tune of 59-0 in Jordan-Hare, then perhaps it is possible we make it into the playoffs.

All I'm saying is next week, we better give Taulia a half.

Give him the chance to show if he can be that option, because I believe we will need him to be.

We just lost the best career passer rating in FBS history. There's going to be an adjustment period. I'm concerned the defense isn't up to the task.

I would think they have to give Lia more reps next week as he IS the backup now, and he needs reps if something happens to Mac.

There are at least 3 games left; potentially (although I don't think likely) a playoff game or more probably a New Years game. Either Mac or Lia will probably be the starter next year for the first games. Hopefully, the staff will rep both fully in the offense they believe them capable to run effectively, and not the BS end of game run the ball every down. Western Carolina should be about resting the injured and playing everyone else as intensely as possible. Auburn is a must win for a number of reasons 1) only other decent team besides LSU on the schedule this year, 2) still possible playoff implications, 3) pride and 4)it's Auburn and I'm still pissed I had to pull for them this past weekend.

The Auburn game is going to give us a good bit of insight into next season. How does Mac/Lia operate in that hostile environment? I hope Mac shows out and has an awesome game. He is the Alabama QB now. I hope Namath stops by and talks him up. Hell, I hope everybody talks him up.

Prayers for Tua - speedy full recovery and many thanks!

i know this is crazy. but in the back of my mind. i'm thinking Lia may be the key to beating auburn. his elusiveness in the pocket is better than Mac's. against that rush, it may be the only way. jmo

If we beat auburn by 10, that will equal the combined margin of victory of both LSU and UGA. Kinda hard to ignore.

I think we can. A lot of this will be on the coaches to get Mac and Lia ready, also on the players to do what they need to do E.g. spending a lot of time with Sark, studying film etc.

The defense is what it is sure, but they can elevate for the last ride and make an impact that might launch us to number 4.

Of course if UGA beats LSU then I think we have no shot unless major disruption happens.

If we beat Awbarn it should be by less than a TD. It will be an uncomfortable nail biter.
Believe the Awbbies have not given up more than 30 points to anybody.
