He then led the offense the very next week to 41 points in the first half against a hapless Arkansas team.

Arkansas has only held 2 teams to less than 30 points this season (Portland State and Kentucky). They have allowed at least 45 points in their last 4 games (Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State, Western Kentucky).

He actually only led the offense to 34 points in the first half against Arkansas. The last 7 points was a pick 6 by Diggs.

Mac is no better then Fromm and UGA only scored 21 points on AU. AU held UGA one time to 9 3 and outs.

The most Georgia has scored in a game over the past month is 27.
No doubt Auburn s defense is the only unit decent, but let's not act like keeping Georgia to 21 points was an amazing accomplishment

Guess what? You're just going to have to deal with whatever happens with Mac Jones. Like it or not, Tua is done and we will now either sink or swim with the Mac attack. No sense in pointing out flaws in my logic when there is absolutely nothing we can do about the situation that has been presented to us.

There is literally no one else. Mac Jones is the best option we now have to win or lose the rest of the way. So why not give the "whataboutisms" a rest for now, okay?

Boz that's the best thing they can do. They dont have to install much of a game plan against lower level team this week.... our offense will slightly be different and Auburn wont know what's coming

Now he will have to do the same against an elite defense on the road.

He won’t, unfortunately.

if he does I’ll be first in line to eat crow. Second helping and all.

No shite. I'm still allowed to be realistic about our chances.

As bad as Nix has been throwing the ball, he'll probably have his finest day of the year against our D, not overthrowing receivers, hitting them in stride, mixing it up with Qb keepers.
Their big veteran Dline will get pressure on Mac so quick passes to Najee & receivers will be a key for our offense.
They will at times move the ball fairly easily for scores against our defense so I also feel we'll need 30+ to win the game.

You're not being realistic, you're being pessimistic. There's a difference. Come back when your hangover has worn off.

How is realizing our odds of winning a championship with Mac + our substandard, injury riddled defense being pessimistic instead of realistic?

I think you need to accept the fact, just like the rest of us have, that we aren't winning a national championship this year. Even if Mac Jones comes out and lights it up against Auburn, the committee will not put a Tua-less Alabama into the playoff over a 1-loss Oregon, Utah, or Oklahoma.

That's your problem right there. You're still thinking in terms of national titles for 2019.

I'm ok with that, but if everyone has accepted this fact, then what's with all of this "I'm confident with Mac" bullshite? Because pretty much the rest of the season is meaningless.

Last I checked, they have about 3 more games to play.

What else is there? I'm about 9 months away from thinking about next season.

We're confident that we can still beat Auburn with Mac, which is basically what this season is now all about. It's also a strong possibility that Mac Jones will be the starter next year so we're also planning for the future.

This is true. But even if we do make the playoffs, I have no illusions about our chances and neither does anyone one else here.

Beating Auburn and making a decent bowl game.

I expect Bama to drop in the CFB playoff polls. We may be as low as 6

At this point with all the adversity this team has endured, from preseason injuries, in season injuries, beating AU in Jordan Hare, closing the season with a great bowl win, finishing 12-1 would be an amazing accomplishment.

Not really it's up to him to get them the ball. They will always make the plays.
When you miss bubble screens and throws in th flats it's on the QB.

Thats what I was referring to. They will have to adjust to the ball more and make harder catches.

Maybe next year. Don't think it will be this year, at least against good teams. Add in a bad/crippled Alabama defense and things just look bleak.

Would love to be surprised, but don't think we have a shot at Auburn considering everything that has happened + playing at their place (which we hardly ever play well) in a hostile environment with a new qb against a very good defense.

If Auburn can't beat this Alabama team then Gus should be fired.

I disagree the committee puts us in if we beat AU and UGA takes the L against LSU. UGA bearing Auburn made the Oregon loss to them worse.
