I said this weeks ago. 2008 wasn’t even as good as the score showed for that win. Miami will always be a bloodbath regardless of the skill level of the teams.

A few teams that we also play horrid against:

Missouri
Auburn

This game shouldn’t be a surprise to anybody except straws.

I predicted a sloppy 30-13 win.

I did not predict Franks acting like a emotional tool the entire night.

Yeah I hope the coaches talk to him about that. That post game interview at the end of the game was pretty bad.

I didn't watch the interview, but I doubt it would change the way I thin of him. We need to remember that this is a rivalry game and a week earlier than it should have been. I don't think I am ready to anoint or write off this team just yet. I am sure plenty of folks did after the Kentucky game last year when we gave up 300+ yards rushing.

These are bullshite excuses. "We always play like trash vs. Miami...and Kentucky, and UGA, and Missouri..."

Trash QB Play = Trash play.

We fix that problem or we continue to have games like these. We barely won and had ten sacks on the night because our offense can't do anything.

Finch I see that you actually watched the game. Straws is so blind and hellbent on crucifying Franks that he did not see what you and I saw, the first pick was because Swain leaped up and tipped a ball that was meant for Hammond who was right behind him. We had two open WRs within a few yds of each other WTF? The second pick Franks said he was trying to throw the ball away to the sidelines and he made a very bad underthrow.

Our problem was Miamuhs defense smothered us in close and Perine got 42 yds rushing. Our Oline played decent but they weren't capable of getting the canes pushed out.
That's the crux of it right there. We played almost penalty free the first half and then the defense loses control...# 41 Houston cost us big time when he tackled a cane 5 yds out of bounds. Mullen talked to him for a long time and the kid smiled...WTF? Finally other players got on him and that smile was erased.

Here is what I have a problem with: the showboating and the same immature behavior by Franks...I am ok with most of the on field problems, but Im too old fashioned for the "hood" behavior. Its the sign of the times for a lot of players when they mug for cameras and act like idiots.

The canes players were worse...what attention seekers. I don't want UF players acting that. I am sure Mullen is getting an earful from boosters complaining about Franks behavior and hopefully Mullen blisters his rear end.

Its time for Mullen to forget about Franks fragile ego and set him down and in no uncertain terms lay down the law and remind him there are other QBs on the team (Im sure Straws is shocked). This behavior is a very bad reflection on UF. If anyone noticed, Franks punted the ball after game was over into the stands.

We have a lot of Posters who want Franks benched and don’t believe in Mullen . Their has to be a reason that Mullen and Mac both felt like Franks was the best option at QB . I think Jones should gets reps in the next game against the cupcake. But he may not be ready to start or Mullen doesn’t want to waste his confidence behind this poor OL .

I think my issue at this point is Franks did not improve this offseason in areas he needed. Just looked the same.

Which isnt good enough to take the next step. Kind of ready to hand the ball to the next guy and see if it leads to greener pastures. Just cant see Franks being that guy to lead us back to glory. Maybe Jones isnt either....but damn we wont know until he plays. Kid could be an absolute gamer...or he could suck..but damn...I cant handle another year of this crazy shite.

Franks had 3 turnovers. The hand off with Perine was UGLY. The timing was off on the toss as well. The first INT was bad luck a bit but that last INT was just RIDICULOUS.

Most of that last one is on Mullen though. JUST RUN THE frickING BALL.

Perine was averaging 4.2 yards per carry but he only had 10 touches.

UF only had 54 plays because of all the shenanigans.

But hey, look at the stat line... 17-27 254 yards... He hit big plays. He was definitely more accurate, he has clearly improved.

But he's still a head case. For every good thing he did he did a dumb thing, and then he acted like a fricking tool on and off the field most of the game...

IM SO TIRED OF HIM UGH

But hey, down 20-17 he threw a perfect pass that essentially saved the game. I'll take it for now.

Same.

The toss was on Davis..dont blame Franks there Davis did not run that toss correctly at all. He like stuttered then took off was very confusing looking.

The shite off the field is why I really could care less about him now. I dont mind cocky athletes...but you must back up that cockiness. He is not good enough to be cocky. Just looks like jackass.

I literally screamed at the tv on the first play after a turnover with little time left and I see Franks drop back to pass.

Its obvious most Gators are having knee jerk reactions to the game. Not a drop of rain and hotter than a 20 dollar pistol...that game needed to be in an indoor stadium.

Our players were well conditioned and very few cramps. I can point out negatives easily. Malik Davis needs more practice reps. TE Krull isn't an answer blocking right now. TE Kyle Pitts caught 3 passes and is a weapon. I did not see Gamble on the field?

If Toney doesn't get hurt....we could have done much better on offense because the defense would have been forced to cover him closely. Im afraid Toney is like a race horse with fragile ankles and lower body.

Greenard is worth his weight in gold and its a shame he is a grad sr transfer. He and Zuniga were unblockable. I did notice that one very long TD run by the canes that one of the Gators downfield chasing him was none other than Zuniga...wow, just wow. 50 yds downfield by a DE.

Of the safetys, the best tackler was Stiner.

OLB Miller was very good. # 33 David Reese was slightly injured and missed a lot of snaps.

The entire defense missed tackles by not wrapping up. # 41 is not ready for playing time after committing a boneheaded out of bounds PF that kept a canes drive going on 3rd down. I was surprised that # 90 Chatfield wasn't on the field to help with depth?

The good news is that we have 2 weeks before Tenn-Martin and 3 weeks til UK. We have time to get focused and iron out mistakes. We are 1-0 and the haters can say what they will...but the truth is that every SEC team has had these kind of games before. We faced a very stout defense. Bama got rung up by Clemson when their run game was stopped cold by them. You have to run the damn ball and our OL should be better in 3 weeks.

I put the blame on Mullen, his bravado just won’t allow him to see that Franks just isn’t going to happen. He needs to get off his high horse and do what it takes to recruit a great QB. It’s as if he’s afraid of hurting Franks’ feelings by sitting him. SMH, Spurrier never had that attitude and he was able to recruit who he needed to get the job done.

I posted this in another thread. I would rather see Emory in the TN Martin game throw multiple int’s and at least get it going than see Franks with another pedestrian showing.

I'm really tired of being right every single time that dude goes out there and turns the ball over in critical points of the game and then acts like a piece of shite.

This isn't kneejerk, look at what other fans are saying. shite go on Twitter and put Franks' name.

"I DO DIS shite, STOP PLAYIN' WITH ME."

Throws into triple coverage for an interception.

Dude's a Redshirt Junior.

If Mullen was smart, he'd bench Franks for the first half of that game for acting like a complete clown.

I'd add Ole Miss and Mississippi St. to that list.

Yeah, next year is our opportunity to get the record with Ole Miss to even. If I'm still here, I'm going to have to sneak it the stadium to wear my Orange and Blue and keep my job.

As far as Franks goes, I'll keep watching regardless of his playing, but he leaves a lot to be desired. I do completely believe that there is nothing there that can be developed further. He just can't quite get over his natural urge to lean on his athleticism and arm strength rather than hang in the pocket (and he had plenty of time last night), read the field, and either find the open guy or dump it if there isn't one. He has occasional games where he seems to do it better, but it never seems to be a consistent thing.

If he plays this rough through the Tennessee game and Dan doesn't give someone else a shot, then yeah, I'm going to be frustrated. Who can help that? I don't know what Trask looks like in practice, and I have no idea what Dan's plans are for Jones. I get logically that his reasons are probably pretty good for playing his cards this way, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to get emotional when I'd watching someone screw up the same way they have for years now and want to see someone else.

As bad as it was last night and at times it was sloppy they still managed to win the game. with 4 TO last year they lose this game.

It was our opening game against a very decent opponent not like it was Umass or Georgia St.there is plenty of time to improve and I think you will see improvement the Florida team you watched last will not be the same Florida team we see in October.

The Coaching Staff and the players need to improve ( and I think they will)that whole game plan from last night needs to be thrown in the trash and lit on fire.

Hopefully after the team gets together and breaks down this game with the coaches today( I'm talking to you Franks)that they will get called out and be embarrassed about there actions and not happen again all season

Franks can't be benched.

He's just a really fragile guy, Mullen knows it and tries to protect him every chance he can get.

But it doesn't matter, Franks clearly doesn't give a frick about what Mullen thinks since Mullen told him to stop talking to the fans and Franks went and did it again right after another touchdown.

Can't wait to see someone else at QB.
