Who gets the deep ball?

Hall is gone so who do we have to go deep? Is it a problem for next year since Bryant does not really throw deep? Our playbook was reduced when Hall was not on the field.
I say it will be Knox and Thompson. Until I see the WR from Arkansas catching deep passes I will not be excited about him. Just like until I see Bryant in the 4th qtr of a game will I be excited.

Whoever can beat coverage. Nash, Scott, Knox, Thompson, Gicinto and Johnson all have the speed. So do the incoming freshmen receiver.

Not the thread I expected, based on the subject line.

While there will still be shots taken downfield, the offense isn't going to be reliant on low percentage throws outside of the hash. Lock's inability to place the ball consistently in front of the safeties was as much of a hindrance to the offense as Hall not being there to outrun people.
Gicinto and Johnson combined for 28 receptions in the month of November. Gicinto's emergence either motivated or took pressure off Johnson. He was very reliable down the stretch and made several chain moving receptions on balls that Lock didn't place very well.
Regardless of what Albert decides to do, the second level of the defense is going to be stressed in a different manner next year with Bryant's ability to move the ball with his legs.

Less deep ball passing next year. The deep ball will be to different receivers.
Depending on how the safeties are spying on Bryant.

Johnson handled the deep ball just fine in the bowl game. The track kid obviously has wheels. We'll see if he can translate that ability to the field. I think Scott will be more of a Denario "hit him in stride across the middle" receiver. That type may play more to Bryant's strengths than a deep threat.
We'll see.

The main issue Missouri need to fix is get the wide receivers open! That is all it matters. That is what the coaching staffs is going to try to fix this off season. I think Bryant will want to use some of his playbook when he was at Clemson.

Maybe they’ll finally use the intermediate middle of the field more for a change without Locks deep ball prowess.
That said. Scott prolly.
