Paul Finebaum called this right after that Zach Smith scandal broke. Guy is definitely connected.

They did this for recruiting purposes.

They know people will be using his antics on the sideline against them so they cut it off at the head.

Pretty bold, but smart, on their part.

No, the bold but smart move would have been to fire him back in August. This is just OSU doing a poor job of CYA.

Honestly after I heard about the brain issue and watching him on the sideline damn near pass out this is the best for him. Being a commentator may not pay the best but those guys always seem to be in a good mood

Come January 2nd, if he doesn't remember the press conference today, does the resignation still count?

He has had that issue for years though. This is just a convenient excuse to get out now before things go downhill without Haskins next year. Kinda like what he pulled at Florida. Urban is a coward.

Man look I don’t care for some of his antics but let’s not disparage someone’s health condition.

They're fair game in my book when you use them as excuses to lie about past events.

But this is supposedly some issue that he has had for years. Frankly, I call BULLSHITE!!!! The Zach Smith Scandal and failed cover up pushed him over the edge. I wouldn't be surprised if something else doesn't come out once he retires. From the looks of Smith's Twitter account, I wouldn't doubt if the obsession with nailing Hermann doesn't explode and uncover even more at tOSU under Meyer.

Eh, i don’t buy it.

First it was his heart. Now it’s this “brain cyst”.

If you CT scanned 100 asymptomatic people, you’d find ~5 of these cyst. They are not uncommon.

Bottom line is he’s not dealing with the pressure and the stress well, which in and of itself is understandable. But he’s blaming it on these “ailments”.

Maybe CNS will hire him as an analyst and try to rehabilitate him.

He said something like "I want to leave this program in good shape" during the Bowl Selection show and not a damn analyst from ESPN picked up on it.

Wow, I didn’t even realize that.
