For those of us that feel Chard is a waste of time...what fixes Arkansas football? How do we go about it? What coaching hire brings us out of the dark age? Somebody tried and true, or a gamble on a newcomer? I wanna hear solutions, not bitching.

I bet Les would jump ship.

We have to give Morris three years. Anything between 3-5 wins next season is acceptable assuming he plays majority freshman on the defensive line and at wide receiver. Give him time to get us SEC-caliber speed and a decent QB situation. Even if he isn't a great coach, he will have left the next guy some talent. That is the biggest problem at the moment....Morris only has 3 decent players to work with.

Cliffs Version - Give him time to turn the roster over, and if he doesn't win after that, have a quick trigger and fire his arse.

Let him load us up with talent, let him take a job elsewhere then replace him with someone that can coach.

No, no we don't. If he doesn't beat a power 5 team next year, which also means at least one conference win because of the Colorado state reschedule, his arse needs to be shite canned the last day of the season.

Sorry, you can't go 5 years as a head coach and never have beaten a real team.

He should at minimum have 5 wins next year or it's game over.

2019 non-confs games are Portland State (1AA),colorado state, western Kentucky and San Jose State.

You also have Kentucky as your lone, rotating Eastern draw. Moo state at home and at Ole Miss are on the table as well for potential wins.

5 wins that's it... If that doesn't happen. He's got to go. If he can't do that, at that point he would again have a negative coach effect to go with 2018's atrocious - 4 score on the year.

You can't go winless in conference 2 yrs in a row. No matter what. That's unacceptable. His seat should be on fire next year if he loses any non conf. Game.

If he does get canned, the easy answer would be Memphis' Norvell. He'd take the job no matter what.

From an analytics standpoint he's basically a Scott frost clone.

I'd hope maybe a bigger name with sec experience would be available, but if next year is more of the same then that won't happen.

I generally agree, but it's hard to count the time spent at SMU when you look at where that program's been.

In retrospect I'm kind of amazed Morris took that job on coming from Clemson... had to be a crazy shock... maybe the guy really loves being in the DFW area.

People can try and bitch about Jerry Jones' obvious involvement in this last football (and AD?) hire, but at least it's someone who's shown they actually care about football... hell we could still have Long and Bert.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry is starting to 'keep up with recruiting'... worked for Lowder at Auburn and Bryant Jr at Bama.

If that’s the case why is he still at Memphis?

Nothing else we can do but sit and wait.

The program will either die or survive with how he turns out.

At this point I don't really care and have honestly been more content not watching much/giving less shits than ever before. It's kind of nice to be a grown up.

With Chad or without Chad - we cannot begin to expect much better until we get better players. Period.
So, to fix it you start with getting better players. It seems like we are working on that fairly well.

This football team won't be any good so long as the keep fielding the worst offensive line in the history of football.

However long it takes Morris, or anyone else, to flip the roster on the offensive line with SEC caliber talent is exactly how long it will take for this football team to be competitive again.

Probably not any better next year. Or not much better. I would expect to see a much improved product in year 3.

I'd take the Iowa state HC. That said I agree if we win less than 4 games I wouldnt be against firing him but I would be completely shocked if that happens. I believe we win 4-5 games next year unless we get a new qb on campus that is not a freshman. If we get that whether it be bryant stidham whoever, then I believe we could win between 5-7 games. Either way I think we take a step in the right direction then year after next i see us making a big jump to the 7-8 win then year after that 9 win plus. So year 4 of morris here i believe we should be capable of 9 plus wins.

After Gus fricked us last year and I came to the realization we were going to have to go the G5 route, Brown was the main guy I wanted. He's done a hell of a job at Troy.
