As a whole, we on tRant seemed to believe that the SEC would be pretty good this year. Nothing special, but top to bottom, we would be a solid conference.

In some ways, we were right. Teams like Auburn, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi State and others have had good seasons and are either in the tournament or are squarely on the bubble. We have won some good out of conference games and performed well in the Big 12 challenge.

In some ways, we were wrong. Some teams, like Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt have been bad, and my Rebels came into the season with at least decent expectations. Our best teams have looked great at times, and average at others. Our worst teams have looked decent at times and completely awful at others.

Good teams have lost to bad teams, some teams have underperformed, some have overperformed, and it's made for quite the interesting season. What do y'all think? Have we exceeded our own expectations, or have we failed to meet them?

The league as a whole has accomplished what the directive was.

Moving from the bottom conference of the P5s to being arguably the best this season.

The only team in the SEC that is still guilty of shite scheduling and needs to be addressed is Ms. State.

We have a good shot at getting 8 teams in the tournament. That exceeds expectations.

It looks pretty damn good to me so far.

This isn't a slight to south carolina, but they lost most of their final 4 team. on top of Martin not being a great recruiter (though great coach) I thought it was pretty easy to see they were in for a rough year.

LSU is better than I thought because of Tremont Waters.

Ole Miss was a disappointment, yes. I had higher hopes for Kentucky too.

Everyrone else looks about as expected, which is pretty damn good. Mizzou would be badass eith Porter healthy

Yes. This has been an excellent year for SEC hoops compared to recent history. Only thing it’s missing is a truly elite team at the top and Kentucky will fill that most years
