We should be undefeated going into the Georgia game.

One loss at worst if Washington beats us.

Gus will be in year six of his tenure at AU with both coordinators coming back. We should have the most experienced and talented defensive line in the conference. We have the third best QB in the conference (Tua not considered yet). We return all of our receivers.

But our own team shouldn’t need to be stout to win most of its games. Three new head coaches in the division and Orgeron is showing signs of falling apart.

We get LSU, A&M, and Tennessee at home. Miss St, Ole Miss, and Arkansas will be in major rebuilding mode.

I really believe anything worse than 8-1 going into the Georgia game should be a major disappointment considering the state of the SEC next year.

Back to the usual 8-4 next year. Gus got his money and could care less about winning at Auburn.

Depends on the offensive line. I know, I know...”addition by subtraction.” That isn’t always the case, though. We need guys to step up and we need Gus Malzahn and Herb Hand to settle on a lineup without flip-flopping guys around a ton.

Yeah we have experience in the right areas next year. Secondary is a concern but outside of Georgia and Alabama, whose passing game should we be scared of?

I fully understand we could be Gussed again BTW. But there’s no excuse for the $49 million man to have anything less than a 9 win regular season.

We will shuffle the O line like 6 times by the 3rd game.

Only guy I'd disagree on is Darius James. For about half of this season, he was pretty bad. Personally I thought the lineup for the UGA game was absolutely our best all year when we had:

Tega-Harrell-Dunn-Smith-Golson

So, we've got to replace C, RG and RT. Horton started plenty enough to have him and Harrell come in at LG/RG. Tega at LT. Then it's a battle for Brahms at C and Ashley at RT. Totally fine with someone beating those 2 out if they earn it, but those 2 are next level talents on the OL. Brahms, especially.

If he does not win the next 3 national championships, he should be executed.

James was an important player hopefully bridging the gap between JB Grimes shitty recruiting at OT & Hand's guys getting ready but ya he was a liability at times. Truth is he was a guard we forced to play tackle & it showed in his footwork in pass pro. Dude was so slow.... Really wish had stuck with Tega at LT after the UGA game but not sure staff completely trusted him understandably considering he has a tendency to miss assignments

Will be interested to see if Horton or Harrell get some work at center too. If someone like Broadarious Hamm (who supposedly had a really good year on scout team along with Brahms) steps up then you might move one of those guys to center to give you experience at that spot & open a position for Hamm. Still think one of Kim/Brahms will start at center but we will see

Will also say that if we were to land William Barnes he could push for a starting role at guard if no one has locked down one of those interior spots. Obviously have to sign him first but he's a guy that could push for early PT too

I am with you.

Until we see the Oline play, we have no clue how it will go.

I just hope we develop an offensive identity sooner rather than later.

I made a post about this. I said we drop the Washington game. Go into Ga with one loss. Drop the Ga and Bama game. Then probably lose the bowl game. 9-4
